Yes very important to enroll in summer classes, he needs to learn the SPEED of College Athletics just like he will need to adjust to the speed of D1 Football.

He learned a valuable lesson in these last three months. He knows that performance in EVERYTHING is measured, and he will be judged on everything he does.

He also learned that you must have a plan, and to stick to it.

He was confused in the late stages because a few big programs made a late run at him. Buddies he played with at Steele play for these schools, he became intrigued with the idea of playing with his old mates again.

Water under the bridge, he is ready to go out and represent the school in a positive manner.

Sometimes coming to UNT and having that support from the Athletic Department and it's support staff is just what these guys need. If they're a total failure and flunk out of JUCO, that's obvisously one thing and a huge red flag. But not everybody transitions into college smoothly, and that's not an accurate indicator of where they might be as a student a year later.

I think my favorite repeat class, surprisingly to me, was business stats, which I took as grad student because there was no stat class then for a geography student such as myself. When j. B. Spalding came into that class and got out the playing cards first thing, I knew I would learn from him. I used to see him on the sidelines next to corky Nelson, helping out with in game analysis.

Thad will be fine in the classroom and great in the field. Wish I could say I never repeated a class but lightening might strike me. Many times we learn much more in our failures than in our successes.
