Interesting. Kind of came out of nowhere, I like the tape! Welcome to the Family!

I read he had an injury right at the end of his senior season, like right before or during the state championship game... so this might explain why he went the juco route.

I also am betting that his teammate at one time was Alexander Lincoln who played for Cibolo.

This kid was VERY highly regarded coming out of high school and appears to have all of the tools we need.

Rivals listed an unconfirmed 40 of 4.65 on his high school profile. He was unranked on the Rivals site coming out of high school.

He was listed as a TE coming out of HS.

Where are you seeing that he was highly regarded? I'm not seeing any other offers out of high school.

But yes, the film looks great. Add this kid, plus Tee Goree and O'Keeron Rutherford coming off their redshirt years, as well as Darvis Kidsy and Turner Smiley, and I'm thinking we'll see Carlos Harris back in the slot this year.

Our passing game could be really special. Harris back at slot and Marcus Smith at tight end would be a nightmare for opposing defenses over the middle. Two guys like that would require a lot of attention over the middle from safeties, which would allow a lot of opportunities for guys like Goree, Kidsy, and Thompson to have one-on-one matchups on the outside. And these are the type of guys you take your chances all game with in one on ones.

Having broken a collarbone myself while playing high school sports, I must say that I am quite impresed that he could play through that type of injury. Additionally, I noticed from his film that one of his best attributes is his ability to fight for the ball and out muscle the defender in man-to-man coverage, which makes this injury even more surprising. I have a good feeling about this guy.

I couldn't help but notice his breakaway speed. He has another gear. He also is able to catch the ball over his shoulder while at a full sprint which is very impressive.

You guys, this kid is really good. He is the big, fast, physical receiver that can win battles at the LOS we've been missing. (I say missing bc we haven't seen the Carthage kids play).

Based off his sophomore video, he's quick off the blocks, has great feet, is really creative with his route running (which will require some learning by the QB), and is aggressive.

I noticed that when the corner is in zone coverage, or not pressing, he's got a move with his hips that baits the CB one step outside. That is some good technique, and demonstrates that he is able to put consistent pressure and different moves on these DBs, forcing them to react to these baits. He reminds me of a running back in these zone coverages. He's able to exploit the soft spots well, and catches away from his body, and in traffic.

When the CB is pressing, he beats the CB by baiting him inside, and he takes the sideline. Although he's pretty good at this, it seems to be his go to maneuver, and the CB doesn't bite every time. But that's what these WR coaches are for, right? (he also rounds out his routes often) That being said, he is very good at breaking away from the CB consistently to get open whenever these CBs don't bite during press.

He is fast, and he's quick in small spaces with solid technique.

I think we got ourselves a true WR1.
