6'1 dual threat. Top offer list coming out of hs. Wonder if they wanted to convert him. Im sure he's a freakish athlete.

bringing him in may show we are not satisfied with going into 2015 with mini...

man, im not getting my hopes up high...

Do he won't be eligible immediately? If not, this doesn't help out immediate need...Billy...

He should be immediately eligible to play this year. Transferring from a JUCO, not an FBS. Has 2 years to play 2 seasons (i.e. will be a RS Junior next season).

If our coaching staff doesn't have a tent propped up in this guys front yard they are wrong. This guy is my absolute 1st want. This is a critical, must land recruit. Does anyone know when/if this guy is taking a visit.

Alright, how are our chances with him? Surely the Och commit will only play into our favor. We need this guy though, badly.

I don't know. There's very little online about Smith since he got to Butler, as far as who is recruiting him and who has offered. I can't even say for a fact that we've offered.

The Ochs commitment sure doesnt hurt. With high school kids I think it helps a school's chances with a kid if his teammate is committed to that school. They like the idea of having a close friend to go to college with and move out of their parent's house with. With JUCO kids, like I said, it doesn't hurt, but these kids have two years left to play college football. They want to play. They're looking out for themselves, so where there teammates commit is just so far down the line of factors I don't think it's really worth putting much weight into.

I like to think we have a good chance here, but it's hard to speculate when I have no clue who has offered Smith or if we're one of those schools.

It's a shame he already visited. He needed legal red carpet treatment. I'm hoping we land him. He is the spark we need on this team that could come in and be a difference maker at QB. I see far, far more upside and skill in him than I did Greer. And that's not a knock in Greer, I'm just saying.

Well, I think the coaching staff needs to start using the fan base as a recruiting tool as long as it is legal and clean. Having people there to greet him with the dance team or cheerleaders would/could pay dividends in a recruits decision making.
