Thinking about the current (non-Mean Green) American torchbearers right now. Random thoughts: MEMPHIS is clearly the media darling. I hate rooting for them, but this conference desperately needs more respect and the only way to get that is to win these OOC games. WICHITA STATE is rockin'! Not many brand name wins, but the BB enthusiast will see some solid wins on their resume. Minnesota is on deck soon, for those that like to look at common opponents. Also ETSU, which is clobbering Charlotte right now. They should wallop Alcorn State. ECU and RICE. Not sure what to think about these stellar records. Me personally, I love the game but I don't love it to the point of being familiar with all 300+ programs. I know very little about their opponents. PS: I don't know if the American has had this many 1 or 0-loss teams (5) this far into November. Seems like it would be a good thing, right?
