Congratulations to coach and the team for winning the conference championship this morning!! Just a day (week, whichever you prefer) after the women's soccer team claimed the first CUSA title, the men's cross country team collected #2. Keep 'em comin!

This sort of thing emphasizes yet again how much a crap shoot it is in hiring head coaches. Our CC coach (Stefanie Slekis) was selected to her first HC position by RV to re-vitalizations this program. She was a volunteer assistant at Florida State and a grad assistant at McNeese State before she was hired for UNT's vacant head coaching position. She is young, energetic and super talented. But, came without HC experience. Super excited that she is the Mean Green HC, and seems to have this program headed in the right direction.

UNT is really upping the ante in many of its programs. These programs, soccer, cross country, golf, tennis, volleyball, swimming/diving, softball, etc. are just as I portant to the student-athletes and coaches who participate in them as are football and basketball to the general "fan" at UNT. And while they are not "revenue" sports, these sports are representative of the progress being made in athletics at UNT.

Congrats to our student-athletes, their coaches and the administrators who have placed re-need emphasis on these sports at UNT!

I agree Kram. These kids are working just as hard on their sport & in the classroom as any football/basketball player.
