We had a thread on if we could return 2 players from last season, who would they be. We have also had several comments about missing DT. No doubt we have a drop off at QB, but what is up on the linebacker play?

And keep the stats. I don't care if player x had 10 or more tackles. Getting a tackle after a 4 yard or more gain is not making plays. I definitely overestimated our new linebackers. Even though our will linebacker is faster than will wright, they are out of place and slow to react. I slept on will wright.

The biggest drop off by far is Zac Orr with our new ILBs. A huge drop off. They are slow. Play recognition is horrible with this unit. No penetration at all. They are only reacting.

Today there was a lot of hesitation. I understand that they want to play under control and missing tackles was an issue. But they are all tentative.

The second biggest drop off is the obvious safety spot. That is a little more understandable, but we assumed Warner and zed Evans would be there with Wade. Wade was decent when healthy, but still, a big drop.

I would rather have Noah Joseph back. Trice was great no doubt, but our secondary coaches have done a horrible job with what was supposed to be our defensive strength this season. I would love to see Bellazin back. We get no pressure, and he was solid every game for us

Next year we'll replace 4 of our 5 starting O linemen. They'll start to gel around mid October I predict.

Fun

Rick

There's been nothing special about them this year. I view the turnover as a positive.
