No, but they're kicking bigger and better asses and their one loss was a very "acceptable" one for the most part. If the American Airlines Athletic Conference of Associated American Athletes in America had a championship game, ECU might be able to use that to squeeze into the playoff. However, they don't, so I don't expect that they will. But you never know...the committee decides these things so if Marshall and/or ECU are impressive enough in crushing everyone they play, and the other conferences cannibalize one another to no end, the committee might decide to slip one or both in but it's still a long shot.

There is no way both ECU and Marshall get in this year.

The odds are astronomically low, but I'm not going to presume anything one way or the other when it comes to a small group of people deciding together.

There is No Way either Marshall or ECU gets in. The P 5 will never allow them access to their exclusive club. Further evidence that this so-called College Football Playoff unlike the NCAA Basketball Tournament which is a true college playoff is a true farce and sham stuck down the public's throat by slick golden tongue sports writers and shisters like Jerry Jones who continues to capitalize on his P T Barnum like talents. For all that AT& T Stadium will do to pat itself on the back for hosting this in 2015 no one has the guts to call it what it really is --- THE BIGGEST FRAD EVER IN COLLEGE SPORTS. Anything other than a sixteen team playoff is not worthy of crowning a team to be called a true college football champion. Even the BCS flawed as it was proved to be a truer gauge than this farce!!!

The best G5 school won't get into the college football playoff, but they will get a guaranteed slot in one of the non-playoff BCS Bowl games. Most likely, ECU will play the big XII champion in the Fiesta bowl, just as UCF did last year against Baylor.

The playoff will feature, if things hold the way I think they will, FSU, Michigan State, Oregon, and the SEC champ.

No to Marshall. Strength of schedule will keep them out.

This. And they shouldn't.

Does anyone honestly believe Marshall is the 4th best team in the country? Or even the 10th? I don't.

As I said before, if La Tech had gone undefeated, they'd have been impossible to deny. But Marshall hasn't played a meaningful game all season.

For all the Marshall schedule oppoenents, they are in the top 25. If hey had played a P5 and lost, do you thing they would still be in the top 25? It is the same soft schedule that Boise and TCU played in order to get recognized as well as the others that came before them. Then, they caught lightning in a bottle at the right time by beating a recognizable opponent at the right time.

Of course, UCF had an auto bid last year...it was taken away from the conference this season.

This is being nitpicky, I know, but since there is no more BCS, there are no more BCS Bowl Games.

A little girl talk: I'm glad to see Marshall moving away from their ugly hard to read new uniforms. (At least today anyway). FAU is knocking on the door to take the lead against them late in the 2nd. Thank you Fox Sports 1.
