Just finished watching this weeks episode of Beyond The Green and it was a great episode, let me explain. It's obvious this coaching staff cares for this team and cares about winning. Coach Mac and RV are the right people for this program, especially at this time in the program. This week's episode you can clearly see the energy and the excitement this coaching staff has and they are trying to get this group excited as well. Coach Mac, Skladany, and Perry all raised the bar trying to get this group pumped up before taking the field this past week. It's mindboggling that the coaches are more excited than the freaking players!!! The coaches are trying to get these guys going and the players act just like they do after the first series or two in the ball game. They all walk around with their heads hanging, no excitement, long facial expressions like they arent having fun, dont want to be there, and they're in some kind of daze. Just like the secondary coach said in this episode, during the UAB game, "you all have to get excited when you make a play for no gain and stop them!!!!"

It looks as if 5% are excited and have the will to win, whle the other 95% of them seem as if they are just going through the motion, waiting for the game to be over. I would bet these same 95% that walk around in a daze continously, possessed this same attitude in HS. I would be willing to bet they didn't have a lot of other offers because they didnt care enough. They didnt care enough to put in the extra work to get better in order to win at all costs. It's an attitude, especially in the game of football. The voted leaders of this team need to step it up. I still havent seen anyone truly step forward and take on the responsibitilty for this team.... Not talking about coaches, coaches cant do this part, this has to come from the players. Player that is a leader because he takes losing personal. That holds that person accountable. That's it!!!! "Accountibility" Its as if they are all playing as individuals and there is no accountability for them not doing their own job, its someone elses fault. Very frustrating. They better start getting fired up or they will get what they deserve. They will all be sitting at home come late December, tweeting how they wish they were playing in a bowl game like last year. It's in the players hands!!

Skladany & Perry were insane! If only that had carried over to the players. That may be what we're missing most that we had last year in Sarge, Trice, and Orr. Those guys were not only talented players, they had passion for the game.

Good segment on Chad Polk also.

Exactly, those players above rallied the troops and others feed off them! This is exactly what is missing!

Honestly? Listen, your head coach prior to this game announced not only to the world but also to your competitors for that week that you are "not as talented." How the hell would you feel? Then your coaches try to fire you up with phony, disingenuous enthusiasm that's really about making the coaches look good. It's insulting to the players. It's demeaning and these kids aren't dumb concerning this patronizing condescending attitude and the Mean Green faithful shouldn't be either.

RV and Mac are the wrong people for this program yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Turnovers and deep balls have killed us in our last two losses. Those two things are on the kids not the coaches.....

I agree. At the end of the day the players need to decide if they want it bad enough to play in a bowl game. It's possible but they are going to have to change their mindset and take it personal.

I am a high school coach and I can back this info up. These kids do not have the passion for their sports. Its mind boggling.

I did noticed that a certain friend of mine was roasted again.....

Did we really have to end the episode 30 seconds after that like it was pivotal...? I mean... come on..... the game was kind of already decided wasn't it???

I have not been shy about him totally screwing up 3 plays at the top of my head in the first half (1 REALLY BAD) but- was the five second zoom in and focus on his F-up really necessary?

*** should have spent more time in the locker room... Probably would've gotten more perspective as far as why the team is not feeling too "confident". And I am in no way talking about my own- in that regard.....
