I miss utilizing our best weapon on offense.... A power run game behind the offensive line.

Still don't miss him. What I miss is a coaching staff that can evaluate and recruit AND DEVELOP better QB prospects for our team. Kind of like the coaching staff that was on board out at West Texas A$M (a D-2 school) when they evaluated, recruited and developed Dustin Vaughn.....who is now on the Cowboys roster.

QB position as I said on another thread, literally the least of our worries right now. And no, I don't miss holding my breathe every time our 5th year senior dropped back to throw the football. Call me crazy.

I do not miss Derrick Thompson. He was nothing special. An average QB who had solid players around him. Dajon is only a freshman. If given time to grow he will by far surpass DT. That will be up to both Dajon and the coaching staff though. Can Dajon work hard and can the coaching staff developed him is the question.

Yup, but I knew this last year and said so, so I'm not surprised at all. I have never been part of the "We could stick a log in there to play QB and be better" crowd. Like all QB's DT struggled at times and I didnt like it, who would? But I saw what Derek was capable of his first two minutes of play of his career at Arkansas State. And he was tough and wasn't scared to take a hit and could throw the ball hard. He stood in there and got his femur broke against Army. He went 25 for 28 on the road against K State. He got freight trained by a 6'7'', 360 LB D tackle while laying a beautiful fade into the corner only 20 feet in front of me in Athens GA last year and got up laughing and came back for more. How he even got back in that game after that hit still amazes me now.

I'm sorry but people who don't appreciate what he brought to the game are football stupid.

Absolutely. We can't beat anyone if our D is giving up 500+ yards in every loss. Doesn't matter who the QB is, we will lose a lot of games bc we can't get stops, we can't even limit big plays from happening over and over again.

You don't know his numbers so how can you claim they were average?

Rick

Reposting mediocre numbers once a month doesn't make them any better bud. How about 8 tds and 10 ints in conference play? Do those mean anything to you? How about a QBR of 30 against UTSA? A game at home with everything on the line and he fell flat on his face. Even players on the team last year would talk about how he had the least amount of talent and upside of all quarterbacks on the roster.

Which month? January? And isn't posting poor performance numbers for one game doing the same thing your doing?

And how bout this genius insight....."talent and upside of all quarterbacks on the roster.". That one is really showing up big for us now isn't it?

Funny.

I wonder if other program's alumni hate their players as much as some alumni supporting this program do?

I, for one, do not hate any of them. I appreciate their past contributions and will appreciate their future contributions. The problem with this team is bigger than the players.
