Defense...?

Do we have one of those? Watching the game on Dvr and I've now watched two 60 + yard drives against a "bend but don't break" defense. Safeties and LBS aren't tackling.... And quit asking corners to Cover AND tackle running backs. This is embarrassing.

We don't. DaJon and the offense struggled mightily but our defense needs help. Not having Laramie was a big loss.

DW gave up 21 pts. The Defense still gave 35 pts and it was not due to short fields or quick 3 and outs

I think if more people would pay closer attention they would recognize that Lee hasn't played more than 2 quarters a game this year.

What Marcus Trice brought to our secondary last year was WAAAY underrated. He made EVERYONE BETTER. We don't have "that guy" this year.

The defense has been a growing concern masked only by two blowout win games against subpar opposition. Any time we get a quality team we have 2-4 drives where the D looks OK, but when the opposition decide they want to score they usually do. The number of times teams have been going for it on fourth down against us is embarrassing but more often than not they convert.

This defense has no chance of producing that epic 8-play stand from the 1 yard line like last year's defense did against Rice.

All across the board we don't have any sort of leadership or accountability, and I hate to say this, but it goes all the way to Mac.

Our defense beat up on some weak teams and weak qbs. Even last years team gets picked apart by Indiana and UAB. We probably beat la tech with last years team.

We have been exposed on defense.

What has happened to our heralded 4 start recruit at LB, Wallace? Wasnt he supposed to be our run stuffing replacement for Orr?

Its hard to play LB with little to no help from the DL. Even UAB's OL was on top of our LB's. DL is a vital. Without at least a decent one every other group will struggle. Ours is grossly undersized.

Abbé left too. I don't mean to undervalue what Orr meant, but we didnt have a DL like Big Country emerge this year. I think he helped our 2013 LB corp.

100 LESS. But, their O didnt need yards when their D is putting up 21 points on the board for them.

Thanks Rick, and I agree without a doubt... When you give the other team 21 points and they don't have to snap it one time on offense the result is typically what happened to us.
