I don't want to change the subject, but I want to add that the attendance at the UAB stadium was a sorry excuse for college football. Good god, I know we can't talk to much about our own attendance. But we usually have had a decent crowd on tv.

Legion Field seats a ton of people--over 70k officially. It makes it look emptier than it is. Their crowd wasn't great (I think the weather played a part), but the stadium makes it look much worse.

Visit Birmingham some time and you'll understand. Plus their program has been extremely, extremely poor for many years. Last year their school leaders approved money to build them a new on campus stadium to help them get up off the floor but the Alabama State Board of Regents which is run by Alabama and Auburn faithful shot it down citing some horseshit excuse that I can't remmeber what it was. Just remember thinking "God those poor bastards can't win for losing". Well, now they got a coach that's convinced the team that the losing is over no matter how lousy their situation is.
