What did Mac have to I say on the post game interview?

BIG DAWG

It's a sorry excuse for mean green football ... hope fans won't desert us. This is sorry football. Fans have every right to say I don't want to follow that team anymore. Pathetic excuse for a college football team. Fans deserve better.

DW had a great week in practice but looked like an 8th grader today. Bad excuse for a D1 quarterback. Go back and determine who will start at QB next week.

Lee couldn't go today. Next guy did not step up. Commented again that Skaladany is close to retiring (makes me think this could be his last season).

Mac not just disappointed but also embarrased. Not sure how tough the team is.

You don't have to listen.

"We got our butts kicked"

"We gotta take care of the football"

"We gotta get back to playing Mean Green Football"

"Games are won in the trenches"

"We've led the nation in turnover margin"

Something good they done "since I got here"

Actually, he's said none of those or anything like that. The quote of the interview is that we have a junior high defense.

Whoa. Never mind. It was so bad he took his cliches out.

He said all of the right things. Now let's see it in practice and not just verbally. I expect these kids to wake up with adequate pressure from the coaches this week and unload a lot of aggression on Southern Miss. If we don't play well against them after this, then there is something really seriously bad going on with this program.

This is a rebuilding year. The players capable of filling the holes created by graduation of players after last season either haven't stepped up, are redshirts or aren't on the roster. Don't "expect" to see this team play well until they've proven that they can.

I expected nothing less from Mac from what I can tell from him.

A lot of people - coaches AND players - are auditioning for the right to remain in the program methinks the rest of the year.

I still want to see Dajon at QB but won't be surprised if they go with McNulty... which I think is a mistake. But hopefully this will wake the whole team up and hopefully we'll see something - anything - from our defense that is as poor this year as last year's was good. He's going to have rough outings, and on reflection I think the Nicholls St game was a mistake. Probably inflated Dajon's ego and while he wasn't bad at Indiana, he needs to make better reads and better decisions. That will come with practice and game experience, but I think Mac really starts Dajon behind gritted teeth because he's not his kind of player - like DT was. Hence why he's opening up the QB competition again, but perhaps it's a motivational tool. Certainly if I were Dajon I'd want to prove him wrong about opening the competition and prove him right that Dajon starting is the best thing for this program.

Is Means being redshirted this year or could he play as well?

Young team, lost seniors, yadda yadda yadda but Mac has always maintained that this year is completely different from last year and that the players can't rely on the glories of that team and have to go make their own glory... and have so far failed spectacularly. I've said it before and I'll say it again- outside of Mac, there is zero accountability and zero leadership on this team this year, and it's showing in the games big time.

Difference between Mac and Dodge? Dodge would have never said these things. He would have tols us how the O-line graded out well, the game came down to a handful of plays and insinuated that the failure was due to forces beyond his control.

Husbands!

Fathers!
