6'6" 290 lb offensive tackle from Denton Ryan. Holds an offer from Grambling. We have not yet offered but may be close.

Will visit on 10/18 for the Southern Miss game.

Just a reminder. Next year we will have 13 returning offensive linemen, 11 of which are on scholarship. In addition, we have four commitments for this year. At some point we're going to have to think about applying the brakes.

Part of me has always thought you can never have enough lineman. I wonder if they're thinking of moving some to the other side of the ball.

We also need to tap the brakes on ST scholarships since we have 6 tied up with Dunham, Johnson, Kenna, Paul, Macek and Moore.

I know DT/DL is the toughest spot to fill, but we need to be in on every kid out there.

It's not gonna happen, that's just not how it works. DT90 (Boutwell's dad) will be the first one to tell you that. We're undersized up front, but our d-line's problem against Indiana was getting sealed off. Not necessarily getting driven back. Same thing would happen, but worse with a converted o-lineman. Ideally you want those guys who have size and the ability to play d-line. Problem is, those guys usually have 10+ offers.

To be honest, I think this kid is my number 1 want left for this recruiting class. If he would've played his junior year he'd have all kinds of offers, including P5s. If you look at our roster, once Antonio Johnson leaves after this season we really won't have a true Left Tackle left. Our other tackles haven't played much at this point in their careers. Harrison Sorge looks like he might be a true LT, but it's hard to gauge the guys who we've seen so little of.

That's the hardest position to recruit at offensive line. The linemen who have the prototypical left tackle size, and have the bend and footwork to play the position are scooped up first, just like 6'4" 250 lb athletic defensive ends, and 6'3"+ stud qbs. The guys who look the part, play the part, and play cornerstone positions like those mentioned. In order for those guys to fly under the radar and fall to us, you need some sort of circumstance, like Bolisomi had by transferring schools and not playing last year. No one knew about him.

This kid is the prototypical size at 6'6" 290, with little bad weight, has long arms, and has pretty good bend. If we can lock him up he could be our LT of the future, if he works hard and we develop him well. He's extremely raw, but he has plenty of tools for a coach to work with. Like BDT said, he'll have other offers, so we need to get in quick and do our best to lock him up.

Army of Dad, please describe what type of DT or NG the staff should be recruiting.

Then send a email to Coach Mac with the answer.

I think Army of Dad is talking about him Bolisomi lining up on D for Ryan.

I hope they do, they need to. They need to experiment with it this year tbh. If we get into any garbage time whether winning or losing throw a big OL out there at DT and see what happens.

I'd rather see Y'Barbo go in as a fullback during garbage time. THAT'D BE FUN. Like a big green snow plow wearing Nikes heading towards the end zone.

Story on the offer:

http://recruiting.scout.com/story/1478214-bolisomi-adds-another-offer

He has two Big12 visits coming up in TCU and Oklahoma State. TCU really is the one that scares me here. They only have 1 o-line commit, and he's an interior guy. Plus, they have a habit of offering kids after we do. Oklahoma State has 3 offensive tackle commits, but 2 are JUCO guys.

For some reason, I'm not seeing anything in your post. And for some reason, I'm feeing that it's not good.

It looks like he went back & deleted the tweet... Just showed all the schools who sent him mail today ... BYU , Oklahoma St & TCU
