DENTON – The Mean Green Scholarship Fund has announced the release of the UNiTe Initiative. The UNiTe Initiative is a 5-year strategic plan to achieve 5,000 MGSF members and raise $5,000,000 annually by 2026. The goal of the Mean Green Scholarship Fund is to help offset the annual cost of student-athlete scholarships in an effort to allow the North Texas athletic department to use those funds to improve the overall experience for UNT student-athletes in other areas such as facilities, equipment, nutrition, and travel. The support of over 1,000 MGSF donors currently assists more than 350 UNT student-athletes cover some of the costs associated with attending the University of North Texas. This support is critical in order to provide student-athletes with the necessary resources to compete nationally and within Conference USA. In 2020, North Texas Athletics' expense for student-athlete scholarships reached more than $6.3 million.
