I am a North Texas grad. That is our rivalry. I hate SMU and always have. If they were playing Russia State, I would root for Russia State to beat them by four touchdowns. The first question I ask Poppy every Saturday, ‘How’s SMU doing?’ The game I listened to last night. ‘How’s SMU doing?’ Well, they are getting their butts kicked up between their shoulder blades.That put a smile on my face. I know the all-time series is way, way out of whack, but the last four are 2-2 and the last two times they came up here to Denton they got their butts kicked. I know for you and your players who have never played them before, the series looks way out of whack, but ask anyone in green who they would like to beat more than anyone and they would say those chickens down there at SMU. They never played up here because they are too chicken to play us. We finally got a 10-year series and that’s great because we can talk to them. They can talk to us. We were never good enough to play in their conference. Their radio broadcast kicked our radio broadcast off The Ticket. This game for me is personal. If you want me to talk to the players, I would be glad to because I can’t stand these suckers. For me it’s a rivalry. George Dunham
