In my late 20s into my early 30s, I played in a band called Frognot (named after a small town near Blue Ridge, TX) along with my sister. Music from our first released CD still lives on in iTunes, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Amazon, and other streaming outlets. My sister and I are both alums from the UNT College of Music. (at least I minored in music.) Anyway, sometime after the band dissolved, my sister was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. She's a survivor, thanks to a chemotherapy and a double mastectomy. After recovery, she started a foundation called Breast Cancer Can Stick It. The name came from the fact that she is an avid drummer.
In honor of breast cancer awareness month and to mark 20 years since Frognot's first show, the band is reuniting for a single show on Sunday, October 30th. Downbeat is at 5:45pm. Our set will be followed by a watching party to see the Dallas Cowboys play the Philadelphia Eagles. It'd be great if you were able to join us and see me try to act like I was in my 20s again. There is no cover, but optional donations will be accepted at the door.
