John Ellis Price, former president of the University of North Texas at Dallas, has stepped down as a tenured professor amid an investigation into his conduct at his prior job. Price, 63, resigned and relinquished his tenure at UNT-Denton on Thursday, a campus spokeswoman said. He had taught accounting since fall 2013, after leaving the top post at UNT-Dallas. The news came hours after The Dallas Morning News asked UNT leaders about a lawsuit filed against him by a woman who had been a UNT-Dallas student and employee. The woman, Camille Willis, sued Price in April in Dallas County family court. She wanted Price to pay child support for their son, who was born in 2008. This month a judge ordered Price to pay $1,710 a month for child support and $234 a month for health insurance.
