  1. I mentioned this what, about a decade ago? I remember either TCU or SMU (maybe both) and possibly also UTA (for basketball) had coupons for discounted tickets/BOGO/family passes, something like that in the Entertainment Coupon Book. I don't know about you guys, but I always have one of these. We use coupons for everything from groceries to restaurants to family photos, and lots of people do the same - if you play it right, you can do twice as much on the same budget. Here is the kicker: lots of schools in the Metroplex sell these books as fundraisers for their Booster Club, Key Club, you name it. So practically every soccer family with a minivan has one in their house every year. Instead of a per-game promotion for certain groups with special rates, we can reach tens of thousands of families (if not more) in the DFW area - many of them probably alums - and instead of trying to advertise a promotion for a single game, one at a time, we could use it to promote an entire season and - big shocker here - let them pick which game to use it for. Lots of companies/schools/whatever buy a whole page and have 4 different coupons. So to ensure that you cover every demographic, we could do that. You have a family? Here's one offer that gives you 4-6 tickets plus a voucher (picked up where you get your tickets) for a drink and food item at concessions (the concessions companies just cash in the vouchers with the ticket office, so they don't all have to sign on), all at 30-40% off the regular price. Single or newly married? Buy one get one free, or bring some friends and get up to 4 tickets for $X.00 off each one (that's how movie theaters do theirs). Going to the game alone to make new friends? 50% off a single ticket. The last time I mentioned this, the response was, "that's not a bad idea, let's talk about it later." When I followed up, they hadn't looked at any info so I offered to find out and they said no thanks, if they were interested they'd call on their own (people in the AD at the time). Well, our attendance hasn't gotten much better since then, and this single form of promoting/advertising would reach a TON of potential fans in our "sleeping giant" fanbase all at once. Should this be revisited? I still think it's a great idea and haven't heard any argument against it.
