UT beat NMSU 56-7 last year with David Ash at QB. Interestingly enough NMSU took a 7-0 lead to start the game. Ash had 91 yards on the ground, including the 55-yard TD run in the third quarter. Leading 35-7 following the third quarter, Texas kept its foot on the gas, scoring on all three of its possessions in the fourth quarter. The game was 14-7 at halftime. UT ran 42 times for 359 yards and NMSU 38 for 104. NMSU did not fumble the ball but threw 2 interceptions.
This was not a very good NMSU team in 2013 as the went 2-10. They lost to UTEP 42-21. They had close wins over Abilene Christian and Idaho. FAU beat them 55-10 and New Mexico beat them 66-17.
