  1. Interestingly, at least to me, I noticed this morning that a koozie I was using (on a soda this morning...not doing beer at 6AM) was the 2006 Mean green football schedule. Took a look to remind myself of that season...it was a 12 game season...with 5 HOME GAMES...imagine that...this stuff happens I guess. I did not recall 2006 as having only 5 home games, but then I don't dwell on that sort of thing either. The more interesting part was that UNT had OCC games with UT (at UT), SMU (at Fouts), Tulsa (at Tulsa) and Akron (at Akron)...not a bad OCC schedule. Of course, all but the SMU game were on the road. But, to me, that's a really nice OCC line-up. I also think this is the sort of line-up we'll see for OCC games going forward now that UNT has Apogee to show off to visiting teams and their fans. Also, being in CUSA should help a good bit as well. I wonder how we all survived with only 5 games at home that year? I just don't recall the sky falling or the earth opening up and swallowing everyone. Maybe I missed that part. Like everyone else, I wish UNT had 6 home games this year...or even 7 like the 7 away games UNT played in 2006, but like in 2006 the world will not end and the sky will not fall as a result. GOOD NEWS for 2013 is that UNT opens at home for a change...now that's change we can all live with and enjoy! Man, these old koozies can bring back some memories and for me, well, good memories as well. GO MEAN GREEN...BEAT HOUSTON!!!!
