This Saturday, we have a 2:00 pm game against Memphis. I believe the North Texas Basketball Team will be on hand for a while. The tailgate will start around 9-10:00 am and wrap up @ 1:30 pm. Our Tailgate location, as always, is the Blue Lot's northwest corner, which is closest to the Stadium and just East of Victory Hall. Victor, Amanda, and Lauren plan to make smash Memphis in-the-mouth burgers and Amanda's Famous Mean Green Jell-O Shots. John has cookies and a yet-to-be-determined protein dish. I will have Spicy Balls. Bring your favorite refreshments. https://meangreensports.com/sports/2018/7/31/gamedayparking Everyone is welcome to stop by and hang out. Sit a spell.

I'd just like to say to any brave Alumni Association members lurking on GMG... Thank you for the tailgate you put on prior to the UNLV game! I have complained frequently in the past about a lack of organization at away games for our fans. The event today was exactly the sort of camaraderie and organization that our fanbase needs to attract people to away gamedays. Great food, great drinks (based on my current headache I probably over did it on them), and it was great to shake hands and speak with other Mean Green faithful. IMHO the price of entry was a bargain for 2.5hrs of food and drinks. Don't let our Athletic and University leadership failures in regards to football kill what you're attempting to start in regards to the events! Keep it up, you won today for most of us fans who spent their time and money to meet the team in Las Vegas. Thank you!

Mean Green Nation, I posted a few weeks back about a free tailgate held from noon-7:30 before this Thursday's FAU game. We will be located in the Blue Lot with a free drink courtesy of Tito's. The tailgate will be hosted by Road to CFB and Tailgate Nation. Stop on by to meet us, have a free drink, talk Mean Green Football, and have a great time. Both Road to CFB and Tailgate Nation are giving away some free swag as well. All are welcome! Road to CFB follows the journey of experiencing a game day at every FBS stadium, and Apogee Stadium marks my 26th in the past two years. To learn more, visit RoadtoCFB.com or follow the Instagram page. We can't wait to see y'all on Thursday and GMG!

Hey Mean Green fans! I am the founder of Road to CFB, which documents the journey of seeing a game played in every D-1 College Football Stadium in the country. On Thursday, 11/15, I will be at Apogee Stadium for the game against FAU! Along with my partner, Tailgate Nation, and sponsor, Tito's Vodka, we are hosting a free tailgate that is open to all (drinks provided), starting at noon CST on Thursday and going right up until kickoff. Everyone is welcome to join us, so stop by and say hello and enjoy a drink on us. I will also be posting my UNT recap to my YouTube channel and Instagram page, as well as on my blog. I look forward to meeting you all and hope to see a great game that might be determining the conference! GMG!

Does my $50 a year not afford at least one or two Alumni Association people to go to the CUSA Championship game and setup a little tailgate? Does that mean @FAU Connoisseur is running the un-official UNT Alumni tailgate? New Orleans Bowl grade alumni association support... :-(

I am breaking out the Grill on this one. Victor & Amanda are building a “Nacho Average Taco Bar” should be good. And Amanda's "Mean Green Caramel Apple Jell-O Shots" should be there as well. Yum John is doing his "North Texas Homecoming Special Cuban Sandwiches", which are carved, made and panini pressed on site. Plus some kind of cookie I bet. I will have Balls, Beer Brats, and Cuervo Please Stop by and Bullshit a while have a ball or something we share. Enjoy this season! Weather is looking perfect. What is on your menu? I like to swing by Viewpoint Bank smoker also, they make some cool stuff different each week.

Looking to ride the train from Collin County to the SMU game? Anyone and everyone are welcome to meet at Vickery Park in historic downtown Plano. Vickery Park is located at 1101 E. 15th Street in Plano, right around the corner from the downtown Plano DART train station. (Coming from US 75 Central Expressway, just take the 15th Street exit in Plano and head east to downtown Plano.) Let's meet at Vickery Park around 2pm for pre-tailgate food and drinks. We can then march around the corner to the train station and catch the 2:31 train, which will have us to Mockingbird Station at 2:57pm. Local train tickets are $5 and cover you for the day. The North Texas Mean Green Tailgate starts at 3pm (tickets are $20 in advance through the North Texas Ticket office or $30 at the gate). Feel free to hang out at Vickery Park later if you don't plan to tailgate prior to the game. To make it there by game time, you probably want to catch the 5:11pm train at the latest, which gets you to Mockingbird Station at 5:37pm, giving you about 20 minutes to get to your seats at Ford Field. There is gameday shuttle bus service from Mockingbird Station starting at 6am that concludes 1 hour post game. Post here if you think you might join us. RSVP not necessary to attend.

Just wondering if anyone on this message board can provide additional details regarding the SMU Tailgate Event that is currently being promoted by the Mean Green Online Ticket Office. The description from the website reads: $95 Tickets & Tailgate Package, 2 Endzone Tickets, 2 Tailgate Tickets, Spiriki Mean Green Club Membership $135 Tickets & Tailgate Package, 2 Sideline Tickets, 2 Tailgate Tickets, Spiriki Mean Green Club Membership I'm trying to find out which sections these tickets are being culled from, and whether or not the Mean Green Club will be hosting the tailgate again this year. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I know some of you are expert tailgaters and sometimes camp out on Friday nights. Planning on doing that this week with some friends. We have reserved spots in the Blue lot and I always see RVs and such in there, but can you camp in that lot? How would they be able to manage parking passes the night before? Surely they don't post attendants at the gate that early. Any advice for overnight tailgating?

Does anyone know where I can buy a North Texas tailgating tent? I’ve heard that in the past, the athletic department tries to sell them as it gets closer to the season. What are some other good tailgating tips besides the usual grill, stereo, beer, and TV's? GMG
