Korona was playing tight end as a junior but was moved to left tackle to fill in for an injured player and became an honorable mention all-district player. He has 5.1-second speed and also competes in the discus and shot put for his school's track-and-field team. Korona said that Duke recruited him to play either offensive tackle position. "I just kept getting better and better at tackle last season," he said. "I've built my strength and my confidence since then.
