UTSA
I think UTSA has a chance to surprise a lot of people for the second year in a row, but it all comes down to how the offensive line holds up and if the secondary can be effective. The offensive line will get back each starting guard this fall and add four incoming freshmen to the stable of linemen, but the starters need to stay healthy for this team to move the ball.
On defense, UTSA should be fine if they can avoid giving up big plays in the passing game. I don’t think UTSA can compete for a conference championship or anything like that in its first season in Conference USA, but the Roadrunners could get to bowl eligibility if a few things go right for them this fall.
Either way, this team looks a lot better than a program only three years old should look at this point. I think that will surprise a lot of fans this year. UTSA won’t be an easy win for anyone on the schedule that is in the conference.
