Benning, meanwhile, has a visit to Kansas State in the works as he continues to transition from the offensive line to the fullback position in addition to his work on the defensive line. He has also received interest from the likes of SMU, North Texas and others.
“I’m open to going anywhere,” he said. “I’m looking forward to my visit with Kansas State though. I like the fact that they’ve had the same staff for a long time. It shows the stability they have there and that the coaches are obviously doing a lot of things right to be there for that long. It’s a great program and to play in the Big 12 would be incredible.”
Benning said the Wildcats and other programs are looking at his potential on both sides of the ball.
