    FOOTBALL: The Iowa State football team received its second verbal commitment of 2013 when defensive back Kamari Syrie accepted a scholarship offer. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Syrie, from Hurst, Texas, also drew interest from North Texas, Indiana and Rice. “I want to improve my skills, footwork and speed,” Syrie said. “I’m going to try and visit (Iowa State) this summer.
