Former South Oak Cliff standout Fonzale Davis couldn’t help but be disappointed when he found out a few weeks ago that his college football journey wouldn’t begin at UNT like he had hoped. Davis waited through the summer to see if he could post a standardized test score that would make him eligible to play for the Mean Green. North Texas WR Fonzale Davis, South Oak Cliff- UNT is losing a lot of firepower on offense, and Davis could help fill the void. Davis put up phenomenal numbers at South Oak Cliff last season, recording 77 receptions for 1,651 yards and 18 touchdowns, and was a big reason why the Golden Bears became the first DISD team to reach the third round since 2008. 10. 3-Star WR Fonzale Davis (Dallas, Texas) Wide receiver Fonzale Davis decimated his defensive counterparts throughout a commanding win. He caught nine passes for 216 yards in a 48-14 victory over Kimball, according to the Dallas Morning News. Davis' output featured three touchdown receptions. UNT hosted arguably its most important recruiting camp of the year last night and is hours away from its biggest event of the summer. As we talked about last night, UNT’s Talon Talent camp paid big dividends when Fonzale Davis, a wide receiver from South Oak Cliff, committed to UNT. Friday Night Lights is tonight. The annual camp that is open to any high school player has grown over the years and is a big recruiting tool for UNT.
