The last time the Mean Green football team took the field for an actual game was on New Year’s Day. It was a historic day for the team as they hoisted up the Heart of Dallas Bowl trophy after their 36-14 victory over the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
Almost nine months later, the team is ready to take the field to try and top their most successful season in program history. And they will start it all off with a match up against the University of Texas Longhorns at Darrell K. Royal Stadium on Saturday.
“I know what Texas has on the field. I know what they have in their coaching staff.” head coach Dan McCarney said. “I know exactly what team is going to come out there Saturday night. It’ll be a real tough, physical and talented football team that we have to get ready for to play.”
