Aug 19, 2013 Following a summer hiatus, Conference USA resumes its innovative syndicated radio programming this week. The Conference USA Station's Group consists of more than 20 initial stations for the 2013-14 athletic year, while other stations remain a possibility to join during the season. All programs will also be available for direct listener download through the Conference USA Podcast Channel. C-USA is offering both short and longer-form programming for its member stations again this year. The flagship program of the network is its daily two-minute sportscast, Today in Conference USA. This report is prepared during the overnight hours for airing weekdays Monday- Friday. It includes the latest scores, highlights and news updates from throughout the conference. During the football season, the conference also produces Talking Conference USA Football, a weekly 15-minute program highlighting football headlines and notes from around the conference and previewing upcoming games. The program also contains a feature interview guest involving a key figure relating to C-USA Football. TCUSAFB debuts each Friday, beginning August 30. In December, Talking Conference USA Basketball will return for its third season, providing similar coverage throughout the men's and women's basketball seasons. Three years ago, C-USA became the first major conference in the country to undertake daily and weekly radio sports coverage of its member institutions on a conference-wide basis. Sixteen radio stations carried this coverage to listeners in 11 states. Conference USA also became the first conference in the country to implement a digital audio interview network league wide, allowing for exceptional audio quality over distance. This capability will continue to be fully showcased in C-USA syndicated radio programming this year. Conference USA syndicated radio programming is a co-production of the conference and sports broadcaster Bill Hazen, who hosts, produces and distributes all programs through his production company. Hazen has an ongoing relationship with the conference, having served as a play-by-play broadcaster for several C-USA events. In recent years, Bill Hazen Productions has become a leader in helping clients to leverage radio resources through the creation and production of compelling syndicated radio programming.
