Brett Medeiros / Senior Staff Writer This season, UNT is one of seven teams that will be joining Conference USA. Over the past four seasons, there has been a different C-USA overall champion every year. The competition in the new conference is very high compared to the Sun Belt. Last year, the Conference USA standings had three teams at the top of the conference standing with a 7-1 record. The Sun Belt had just one team finish with seven conference wins. “It’ll be fun playing new teams week in and week out this year,” senior wide receiver Brelan Chancellor said. “They haven’t seen us and we haven’t seen them so it’ll be some good matchups.” The toughest teams in the conference are the University of Tulsa, who finished with an 11-3 record overall and 7-1 in conference play, and East Carolina University (8-5, 7-1).
