BlueRaiderZone has learned that former Siegel quarterback Brent Stockstill has officially enrolled at Middle Tennessee. Stockstill, son of Blue Raider head coach Rick Stockstill, originally signed with Cincinnati out of high school.
Speculation about Stockstills future with the Bearcats began with the announcement that Notre Dame transfer Gunner Kiel was heading to Cincinnati last month. He originally went through the recruiting process after deciding not to play for his father. With Kiels three years of eligibility remaining and Middle Tennessee looking to have a wide open competition for the quarterback job in 2014, it seems Stockstill had a change of heart.
The addition is a big one for Middle Tennessee. Stockstill is a true dual-threat player who threw for 2,253 yards and 28 touchdowns and rushed for another 638 yards and 10 touchdowns. Stockstill is also an accomplished baseball player, though theres currently no word on whether he intends to play both sports in college.
