Upon further review, there is/was an NFL ref by name of Walt Anderson. He attended UT Austin and is younger than me.

Lifer, I certainly have been wrong many times. If there is a Walt Anderson, I’m not familiar with him. I do know the Parker house was behind my parent’s house 2 houses east and I do know there is a University street names Walt Parker. I’ll win that hat back. J

Walt was a State Representative for a long time. He was head coach at Denton High for a time and then opened Denton Sports and Toy Center on N Elm Street where Sky Guitars is now located. He ref’ed a Super Bowl game and finished his NFL official career grading on the field officials from the press box. He also built a lot of houses in Denton. I grew up with his son.

They have a remarkable obsession with all things green. And yet, we ignore their site. Side note….The Canales bio mentions he was interim head coach at North Texas in 2010.

Walt Parker is the only NFL official and former NT player I know of. Got a road named for him off Bonnie Brae.

Hey Joe ! I cringed when I saw you refer to Texas State-San Marcos as Southwest Texas State. Reminded me of another school with an identity problem.

I don’t like where we are and the comparison to U Mass is not lost on me. But how would any of you rank a team with a 2nd year head coach coming off a 5-7 season with 70 new players on the roster ? When they do the introduction of players before the game, it’s for the benefit of the other players.

I would guess these 3 went to someone’s house or apartment and did something stupid. The police were called and the police asked the resident if they wanted the 3 FB players “criminally trespassed.” Resident said yes. If they come back they can be arrested. So they came back. It was my experience they might have even been invited back. Nonetheless, something else happened. Maybe this time a neighbor called the police. Police arrive, find the players have been criminally trespassed and bingo. Free ride downtown. There used to be a phrase. “You might beat the charge, but you can’t beat the ride.” I wonder if XAvion Brice is related to former Men’s Basketball player Ricky Brice ?

The question was about recruiting Denton high schools . Just as Coach Morris started to answer, somebody’s fight song started playing followed by an American Athletic Conference commercial. Does anyone know how he answered ?
