  1. GOMEANGREEN.COM is a powerful force. It's amazing what we can do when we all get behind a project. Everyone got your Mean Green Club dues paid ? Got your season tickets orders ready to be mailed in ? Congrats to Caris. congrats to GOMEANGREEN.COM
  2. I love the little stickers for individual achievement-In Jr. High School. In college and I think, even high school, individual achievement should be expected. If players are not expected to make tackles and sacks and interceptions, then what are they expected to do ? I'm down with Dodge. Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  3. According to the web cam, they got a lot of work done yesterday (fri). And they're moving the seating 30 yards closer to the field.
  4. I was the Green Seat Chairman back when ever. I had heard so many rumors about the orange seats, I did some research to find the truth. The designer of the Super Pit was a man named Klutz (?) Yeah. I know. Anyway, he is an architect still in Dallas. The seat fabric choices were for television of the day. The day was 1971 by the way, but the choices were beige or orange. The cost of the color was not a factor. Orange was not chosen because then President C.C. "Jitter" Nolan was a UT alum. Nor were the orange seats left over from the Super Drum in Austin (it hadn't been started yet). Nor because the architect went to Texas. The truth is boring. Orange was thought to show up better on 1971 television. The seats were sent to a company in San Antonio in 3 or 4 batches. It took almost a year to get all the seats out, recovered, painted, and reinstalled. For much of that year, entire sections of the Super Pit were bare concrete. We had a subscription party to raise money for the seats. We "sold" a seat for $100. each. There's a list of donors near exit D today. There it is. Boring but true. A better question is why does the men's BB team sit on the wrong side of the gym ?
  5. Using the phrase "I couldn't care less" incorrectly. Frequently we see the term "I could care less", which to me says the speaker does have some "care" left in his tank. "I couldn't care less, the speaker is completely out of "care." 6. I've got to agree with Ken (not that that's a chore). Harbaugh has built a program in college, where, at least on some campuses, money is scarce. Harbaugh has built a successful program without the aid of scholarships to lure players as well as strict academic standards. I don't know if state money may be used for athletics in California, but this would certainly be different from the situation that Todd Dodge comes from. In SLC, the burden of a successful program is placed on the backs of the taxpayers ( a burden they gleefully carry, I'm sure). I'll suupport whoever RV selects, but my criteria has always been, first, a head coach from the college ranks. If Jim Harbaugh wants to use NT as a stepping stone, then step here. His success is our success. Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  7. My #2 son graduates from A & M in 9 days. But who's counting ?
  8. The only way for the North Texas job to be a stepping stone job is if the coach is successful. Unsuccessful coaches are rarely hired away. If Harbaugh, or whoever, is successful, then North Texas is successful. And wouldn't it be fun to have a former all-pro, first round draft choice, 10 year NFL, successful HEAD COACH coach at North Texas. 9. was that an endorsement for Todd Dodge, Plumm ? Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets (we're gonna sell out) GO GO GO MEAN GREEN
  10. Glory to the Green Glory to the White Period !
  11. It's hard for me to believe that Harbaugh would come to NT, but if it's true, then he's my new favorite.
  12. 2nd paragraph. Last sentence.
  13. I'll support whoever RV choses but my first choice right now is Eric Price. Offensive coach at big programs, knows Texas especially DFW, and a proven winner. And dad wouldn't have him around so long if he couldn't produce. Family or not, the name of the game is winning.
  14. Seems to me that those left on the "old" staff would want to look good and possibly have a chance to stay on when the new guy gets here by keeping in touch with recruits. Couldn't hurt. And what are they doing now otherwise ?
  15. After you pay for the ball, you have the right to have the name changed to something else.
  16. With Darth as coach, you'd always have to worry about that "black" uniform thing.
  17. Eric Price. Successful college coach looking for a first time head coach gig. Knows the DFW area. OC at Washington State, Alabama (no games) and now UTEP. His dad carries a pick ax onto the field before the kickoff. Perhaps Eric could carry Scrappy (?)
  18. What is his policy on assistant coaches charging into the stands after a fan ? Also, how does he feel about tortillas ?
  19. I share your concern about getting a "first time" head coach. And I agree. However, I think North Texas is only going to be able to get a OC or a DC to fill this vacancy. Todd Dodge being the exception and he is from the high school ranks. Now, name for me all the NT head coaches that came to NT as a prior head coach. Please don't list Hayden Fry. Everyone knows that. I just can't think of another head coach here that used to be a head man. Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season TIckets GO MEAN GREEN
  20. Back to the topic-I read here sometime ago that 2 supporters had contacted President Battile (sp) and offered to pay the DD buyout. Does anyone have information on this ? Join the Mean Green Club Buy Season Tickets GO MEAN GREEN
  21. My overall thought is that if Price, Nix, and Dodge are just 2 of the candidates; we are gonna be in good shape. Hmm
  22. The North Texas Dancers were there as usual. Just before tipoff, they were no where to be seen. Then there they were. The NT Dancers always do a super job.
  23. Does anyone know what uniform NT is wearing tonight ?
  24. Please explain
  25. NT is forced to forfit when they show up in all black as the War Hawks are wearing their home dark uniforms.
