  1. Did I understand that correctly ? The used NT-Ark St. ticket from Saturday is good for general admission to any game in December ? I looked at MeangreenSports.com. Nothing. I called the ticket office. No idea. The December 31 game against Middle Tennessee tips off at 4:00.
  2. Why, with some, not much, but some time left on the clock, did we not try to get down the field and try to score something late in the first half ? As I recall, we had 8 seconds left when the ball was caught and the receiver stepped out of bounds. A long pass ? A long field goal attempt with the wind at our backs ? Almost anything other than taking the snap and downing the ball. In the late seconds of the 4th quarter, this is always done. Why not as the first half winds down ?
  3. I think I actually said the same thing. "Now THAT'S going to get the crowd pumped up." I've also got a problem with "Hey Baby." A great song, but one that shouldn't be played unless and until the game is firmly in hand. We shouldn't have heard it at all this year.
  4. The Denton Broncos went 0-fer this season.
  5. OK OK My wife didn't go. I asked the ticket lady to scan my other ticket to inflate the attendance numbers. Geeze.
  6. What are the OOC dates ?
  7. Too late. It's back in the recycling bin.
  8. I remember getting that letter after reading Drex's post. It was so UN-interesting, I tore it up after a quick glance. So I had to go home, dig in the recycle bin and piece it back together. After reading it a second time, I recall why I tore it up in the first place. The stadium topic was the second item metioned. And the donation levels mentioned-- $25-$50-$100 ? Small time. No wonder we can't get anything done--we assume nobody's going to give so we're embarassed to ask for some real money. I'm surprised there wasn't a box to check off if one just wanted to say, "I'm not going to give any money, but I certainly wish you well." GO MEAN GREEN
  9. I don't have any idea who you people are speaking of. Is this person a frequent poster ? A frequent attendee ? Who is this guy ? GO MEAN GREEN
  10. sorry GO MEAN GREEN
  11. How many watched North Texas stop the Sam Houston OOC home win streak ? I've looked everywhere I know to look and can't find it. How many fans please ? GO MEAN GREEN
  12. Why is Oklahoma State not wearing white ? Or then, why is NT not wearing white ? Why isn't somebody wearing white ? GO MEAN GREEN
  13. The official Utah State site mentions former USU Coach John Smith and two former players that were in the mix for the job when Guy was hired. No mention of any coach that might or might not have ever been the head coach at any Texas public or private college or university.
  14. How about if I promise not to post anything here about any of their current assistants ?
  15. Does anyone know the Utah State fan board address ?
  16. I love that story. Way to go Coach Mendoza. Way to go Ruddie.
  17. Sue. I thought going to the Snake Pit would be fun. But I, like many of you, have really gotten used to the modern "ness" of the Super Pit. I have no desire to ever play there again. I'm wondering abut the reason, the real reason we played there anyway. I think the University got a fat pay check for renting out the Colseium for the robot competition. I think the retro thing was just a cover up. I can't imagine UT being bumped form the Super Drum or A & M vacating Reed to play a game in G. Rollie. Give me my great seats on row 2. Where no one is more than 4 or 5 seats from an aisle. I now remember why the Colseium was built in the first place. The Snake Pit sucks.
  18. I went to the first 4 New Orleans Bowl games. My team was playing. I was impressed with how few New Orleans residents knew what I was speaking of when I mentioned the New Orleans Bowl. "You mean the Sugar Bowl ?" was the usual response. I think the New Orleans Sports Commission needs to do a better job promoting this game. Look at a hotel promo from New Orleans. When they talk about upcoming events in the Crescent City, the New Orleans Bowl is never mentioned. GO MEAN GREEN
  19. I was surprised to see Howerton again last night. He lay under the basket for a long time. When he finally did sit up, he had that "where in the world am I" look on his face. He went right off the floor to the dressing room. We can't handle a full court press. The TAMUI guards were all over our guys. If this doesn't improve, we're going to give up some major points or turnovers getting the ball in. The reason the crowd (under 1,000) cheered when Ben Knox (I hope he becomes the Fort) finally slammed the ball was that he kept getting the ball, in the hands, and turned it over 3 times before finally scoring. He got that very polite thing going that tall freshmen have. "No no you go first. No really. I'll wait and go behind you. I beg your pardon." I say the same thing with Justin Howerton. Johnny Jones without a tie. I never thought I'd see the day. His shirt didn't even have a top button. One of the best Scrappy guys in a couple of years. And new for '08, kid's tricycle races. Two 3 year olds racing about 2/3 of the court and back. The crowd enjoyed it. Ken Bahnsen was there last night (Ken Bahnsen Gym AKA Snake Pit) watching form the tunnel. I hope he's introduced Friday night. He made the first touchdown at Fouts Field. Do season ticket holders have a reserved section for the game at the Snake Pit? I understand about the general admissioin, but if 3,500 students showed up ( I wish) there wuldn't be room for those that purchased season tickets. See everyone Friday night. GO MEAN GREEN
  20. And now days, he drinks Diet Coke.
  21. Thanks for the informantion aabout the streaming FAUOWLS44. and please understand. When UNTGRAN says he hopes for a good game, he means he hopes we win by about 126 points. Thanks again. GO MEAN GREEN
  22. I just got an E-Mail from the Athletics Dept. (Friday 12:20 pm) Note said the Basketball season tickets have been mailed. GO MEAN GREEN
  23. Since we rarely send the Green Brigade to out of town conference games, I'd like to see the Mean Green 18 Wheeler on road games as a center piece for those Mean Green fans that do travel with the team. Imagine the Mean Green getting off the team bus at the out of town venue and seeing that big beautiful truck. And how the home team would feel seeing what the visitors brought with them. GO MEAN GREEN
  24. Across the street form the Super Pit. On Highland St. Also known as the Men's Gym and more correctly the Ken Bahnsen Gym.
