  1. Not a note card, an "ahh" or a "you know" in sight. And she seems to "get" North Texas. She's good for us. GO MEAN GREEN
  2. Is Dr. Bataille a personal (not university funded) member of the Mean Green Club ?
  3. Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear S U M G also known as John, Happy birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
  4. Students didn't show up
  5. GO MEAN GREEN
  6. Look at NT 03's post above Is the parallelagram area in the center the Club Seating area ? Mandy called me today and said she thought the Club seating would run from the 20 to the 20. Holding about 750 seats. My understanding was that Club seats would require a donation of $25K over a 5 year period and seats at $350 each per season. I missed the presentation Saturday so Mandy is mailing me the information. GO MEAN GREEN
  7. Renind me. What time is the Stadium announcement ? What time is kickoff ? GO MEAN GREEN
  8. Red seats? I did not know that. accually they were longhorn burnt orange, atleast thats what someone told me....that kinda of embarassing! They weren't burnt orange. More like an Oklahoma State orange. We formed a working committee and raised money by selling "subscriptions" to "buy" a Green seat. They seats were removed a couple of sections at a time and sent to a company in San Antonio to be recovered. It was at this time the wooden arm rests were replaced with the current arm rests with the cup holders. there's lots of rumors as to why the seats wre orange originally. None of them true. In fact, the truth is boring. Joe
  9. Listen to the news. Everybody wants to go Green. Buildings want to be green. Cars want to be green. Heck, even entire cities are anxious to go green. It took longer than I thought, but I think North Texas is finally in control. Luck 'o' the Irish to ya. whatever that means.
  10. Is there a record of giving by Dr. B and Chancellor Jackson to the Mean Green Club ?
  11. Look for the new hotel to offer sleeping rooms with an "interstate view" and a "stadium view." And before we go too much further, what does the "Q" stand for ?
  12. So our head coach's name is Todd Riley Dodge ?
  13. One of my favorite North Texas memories was waiting for the brackets to be announced with everyone else at the Athletic Center year before last. when NT vs Memphis was announced, theywhole place exploded. I hope to have a repeat of that next week. GO MEAN GREEN
  14. I liked Gio too much not to be interested in what he's doing football or other wise. However, I am surprised that someone, even a newspaper reporter, and look up records to see who is and is not enrolled at a public university. Maybe this is a common practice, but if enrollment records are available, are addresses and license plate registration also ? And as far as Gio (I can't spell the rest of his name. And now there's no need) feeling pressure from any other quaterback currently enrolled at North Texas, I don't think he had anything to be worried about. I'm not saying. I'm just saying. (I think that's funny)
  15. Observer, "What in the Sam Hill is that thing ?" Orville Wright, "That my friend is a flying machine that my brother Wilber and I have built out of bicycle parts." Observer, "Well, what do you intend to do with it ?" Orville, "We intend to fly it sir. And by doing so, we will change the world." Observer, ''It'll never work. Man has tried to fly forever. It'll never work." Orville, "Why ya gotta always be so negative. Why not give some encouragement to those of us trying to get something done ? Maybe you could even help." Observer, "I'm just saying it'll never work. You're wasting your time."
  16. I'm excited about the Alabama game and The Army game. But I voted for the home opener against Ohio UNIVERSITY. I think it's winnable, it's at Fouts, and if we win, most casual fans will think we knocked off OHIO STATE.
  17. It was the "Pat Boone's Couontry Inn" and although it was located on what's now University Drive @ Fulton, back then, it was almost in the country. University Drive (US 380) was called Highway 24 back then and it was 2 lanes wide. Then, I went downtown and helped build the Courthouse on the Square. I was just a youngster back in 1894. Ahhh...Memories.
  18. Pat Boone "Love Letters in the Sand" Stadium
  19. A total game by the Mean Green. I thought the crowd would have been bigger. Who was the NT fan ejected from the game and what did he/she do to deserve such treatment ?
  20. So only 2 Sunbelt teams will be able to go to a bowl game ?
  21. I don't get it. How can a facility that holds 6,500 as opposed to the 40,000 the new stadium is going to seat, with only 10 players on the court at a time, as opposed to the 22 that are on the new field at one time, serving a campus population of 27,500 (?) as spposed to the 33,000 at NT cost $73,000,000 and the new stadium, an apparent bargain, cost $60,000,000 ?
  22. As far as "register", I didn't mean ask for any personal information. I just was looking for a reason to force the student to be in his seat when the team came out, and then hopefully stay until the drawing at the beginning of the second half. Under my idea, if for any reason, the winning student doesn't attend the next semester (grades, graduate, just doesn't want to continue) , any reason, the prize would be forfited. The prize would also be available ONLY to the student whose name was drawn. Not transferable.
  23. A promotion for current students only. All registered student's names are put in a hat. A really big hat that can hold 33,000 names. Just before the second half, and after all attendees have been counted, one name is drawn at each home game. The winner must be present to win, and he/she gets his next semester tuition (just tuition) paid in an amount based upon his/her current load. A student currently taking 12 hours would get a credit for up to 12 hours the next semester. A 6 hour part-time student would get get up to 6 hours tuition paid. But, YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN. Maybe even have to get there before kick off to "register" before the drawing. Students would have to be at the game to register and need to stay at least until the drawing. The cost would be free to the student, and would only cost the Athletic Dept if the winning student was actually present. Great reward for the student, and minimal risk to Athletics.
