I don't recall the year, but when I came up the portal at Texas Stadium when we were playing UTA, and I saw the lime green helmets ( with the STYLIZED EAGLE), lime green jerseys, and lime green pants, I thought they were the greatest football uniform I'd ever seen. AS soon as Ruston LA. gets an airport with a paved runway, the costs will certainly go down. Although that will have to be weighed against the lease the University gets for running cattle when air traffic is light.

How about a trial season. Try it and see how things work out with no guarantee that the experiment will continue. And handle it like pro sports handle it. No beer sales after the end of the third quarter or midway through the second half. I think it might bring in more fans. Have you bought your season tickets yet ? Whatcha waitin' for.

All good sounding items. But I think we need another idea for tailgating. We ( you, me and the Athletic Department) , need to come up with some workable plan to get our tailgate fans to come into the stadium and be counted as Mean Green fans. In their seats before kickoff. Stay in those seats throughout the game and then spend the rest of the evening tailgating if necessary. Now, what to do. Should there be a horn or bell going off at 30 minutes and at 15 minutes before kickoff ? Some pretty girls walking around reminding fans to clean up the picnic and come inside ? The banning of alcohol during the game ? I hate to think that any of these measures are needed, but they are. Our attendance would probably go up by 10 or 15% if we got our outside fans inside. The new location for the scoreboard will take up about half the viewing area from the Touchdown Terrace. Fans will still be able to see the game from either end of the area. Huff...Seems the scoreboard should be mounted high enough to permit viewing from beneath the scoreboard. I hate the thought of a blank wall viewed from the AC. No. NMSU and USU are in a different time zone from North Texas. UTSA has yet to even have an opening kick off. And Texas State San Marcos is in a lower division than North Texas. When teams schedule Louisiana Tech, where do they fly in and out of ? Ruston Regional Airport appears to be too small. Do teams land at Shreveport and take a bus to Ruston ? And how far is that ? It's nice to have DFW in our own back yard. GO MEAN GREEN

When we were in the "Big West Conference" the name of the dorm, "West Hall" was changed to "Big West Hall" logo and all. I thought it was funny. I met a student and asked which dorm he lived in and he replied, "Big West Hall." I'd rather build "Conference USA Hall" GO MEAN GREEN

This is one of the most important things I've ever read on GOMEANGREEN.COM. The article lays to rest some of the myths that have floated around for years. And why should other Texas CUSA teams support a North Texas membership ? Money. Travel isn't getting any cheaper and regional opponents would mean higher attendance. Shorter distances between games should be what conferences are all about. Fans want to watch teams they are familar with. Many of our fans don't know our conference mates. Every kid that attends a NT game will want to sit in the so called "wing" section. this will make the end zone seats even more attractive to young families. I like the idea of green bleachers. How about having them anodized ? Hence green with no maintance.

He had that biio page all last season. But he was never listed on the roster. And he's not on the roster now. I was shocked when he left. And I think his departure put NT behind schedule getting back to winning ways. Any time a school record holder leaves the program, the program will suffer. I wish him the best. Maybe he's a NT fan.

I agree with Video Eagle. Invite Baylor to join the Sun Belt. I would really be surprised if they even gave the offer any thought, but what if they did ? A Baylor Sun Belt all of a sudden becomes a good conference. Just that one addition makes the Sun Belt legit. First thing you know, Houston and Rice want in. And in a plain, brown envelope, SMU petitions for a Sun Belt membership.

As per the North Texas on the Square meeting, the Alumni spot ( I'm searching for a word here) will be built nearer the tail gate area. Somewhat away from the Stadium.

I've been meaning to post this. I'd like to see us end the Fouts era with Kansas State, then turn around and open the new Stadium against Kansas State. Sort of a Stadium two fer. I know this is unlikely, but I think Kansas State would make a great opening opponent.

I got e-mails promoting this event almost ot the point of over kill. Hank told me that the jumbotron was moved to the south endzone ( athletic dept side) to focus all attention toward the end the Mean Green would come out. The tunnell I only recently noticed, on the press box side, will be provide field access to two locker rooms on that side. Probably for high school teams. The visitor's dressing room will be on the east or non-press box side. It was a good event and a lot of people were there. Good outreach for the Athletic Dept.
