  1. Is 2 feet of snow the opposite of 94 feet of heat ?
  2. I like the Smitty helmet
  3. How could I get in touch with the director of the Cheerleaders or the head Cheerleader ? e-Mail or telephone number ?
  4. I'd rather be asked than ignored.
  5. Ole Miss Mississippi State Tulane New Mexico
  6. Almost every year, my wife and I travel to a "big name" game. We went to Army this past September. we used to always go to Austin or Norman, or Houston. But for the money I spend for an out of town trip, coupled with airfare (if applicable), and hotel, plus the shopping, ahh the shopping, I can more than pay my Mean Green Club dues and make a dent on my Stadium committment. If NT were to schedule The Sisters of the Poor at home, I'd go and have a great time. (The Sisters weren't even bowl eligible this year) I really enjoy road games, but if we could net the same and maybe win at home, I'd be all for it. GO MEAN GREEN
  7. I had forgotten that. Winslow and Hayden Fry also started the "Song Leaders" from the UCLA "Song Girls". The Song Leaders later became the "North Texas Dollies." Which we know today as the "North Texas Dancers."
  8. I don't recall the Cotton Bowl having upper deck seating in the end zone shown.
  9. It's interesting hearing two versions of the same song (fight and alma). I can really hear the difference from what the GB plays now. When I saw Robinson's grand Entry, I thought it was "Grand Entry Swing". Do you have that ? I recall it from the Winslow era of music at NT.
  10. LETS GIV A CHEER Happy New Year. I hope you're warm. I appreciate your comments concerning the Fight Song. I'd like to hear both versions if you're able to post them here. song I really don't like the "om pa pa" version of the Fight Song and the "slowed down" version. I'm sure there would be a riot in Austin or College Station if "Texas Fight" or the "Aggie Battle Hymn" were played any way other than the way they were written. (I know we're not Texas or A&M) Happy, healthy, prosperous New Year Mean Green Nation GO MEAN GREEN
  11. MCMLXXX...Marlin said, "Jerry, (one of the Refs) You guys are worse than we are." Marlin drew the "T" for the comment, "It's always a free throw contest in Denton."
  12. The Cheerleaders were there tonight. Dancers too. But the band was AWOL. We listened to recorded music all night. Seems if the cheerleaders and Dancers could make it the band could stop by as well. It's just not the same without the band. Good win.
  13. I agree with everything Emmitt said. When conference re-alignment comes along again, basketball as well as football attendance figures will be looked at. And by the way, MEANGREENSPORTS.COM says the LA LA tip is 4:00. I'd hate for our fans to be late for our second conference win.
  14. What's the definition of a gelding ? A Mustang without any footballs ?
  15. I went with the groundbreaking, though I think Silver is right. The new stadium will have the unique situation to extend beyond all the other choices. Coaches come and go. Season records can always be broken. I assume we will continue to get top players. The new stadium will one day celebrate it's 50th and 60th anniversery. GO MEAN GREEN
  16. I was rooting for Army since they beat us back in September. As far as smc, I just don't care.
  17. Did ya hear that on the Armed Forces Bowl...."And how about the Sun Belt." Go Mean Green Build the Belt
  18. I'm sorry 96. I was trying to show irony. Ya see, if an umbrella is dangerous at a football game, it could also be dangerous at a basketball game I reasoned. And I understand that rain is less a problem indoors than out, but the "weapon" thing remains. Again, sorry. PS We haven't had any airplanes crashed into buildings since the TSA came on line.
  19. And speaking of Thursday's game, did I hear the tip was at 5:00 ?
  20. It's getting harder and harder to support the position that the Sun Belt is the weakest conference. When other conference teams play the Belt, and lose, who is in fact the weaker conference ?
  21. For most of my life, I have been able to take an umbrella into a stadium in rainy weather. I had to look over the umbrella in front of me and people behind me had to look over mine. After 9-11 that changed. No more umbrellas and my wife's purse is searched, maybe, prior to getting into the game. Last night, it was raining cats and dogs when I got to the Coliseum. I had my umbrella with me expecting to be told I couldn't take it inside with me. Not only did no one say a word about the umbrella, but there was a dispenser full of plastic umbrella bags for me to pit my wet umbrella in. They were anticipating lots of people bringing umbrellas. Since the ban on umbrellas at Fouts, I have been told I couldn't take the umbrella in because it could be used as a weapon. OK. I'm fine with that. But if that's the case, couldn't my umbrella be used as a weapon at the Coliseum as well ? GO MEAN GREEN PS---Don't come to the basketball games because a "name-brand " team is playing. Come because the Mean Green is playing. GMG
  22. Can't do it now. "You guys are just copying Hawaii."
  23. HONOR SYSTEM IN PLAY HERE Without looking, tell me where Oklahoma Panhandle State University is. Be specific. Extra points for what Oklahoma county OPSU is in.
  24. beg pardon... "...nine state instituttions and a federal one." A FEDERAL one ? Please explain.
