  6. I need to talk to my friends at the U of Houston
  7. The Sports Information Dept. should deliver a memo to every person having anything to do with our games as to what the name of our University is.
  8. This is a hoax. The Sporting News predicts Troy over Ohio 48-21. It also shows Troy at 8-5 / 6-2. So I guess Troy loses to NT and to somebody else in the Sun Belt. GO MEAN GREEN
  9. Well...At least it's Green.

  16. Channels 4, 5, 8, and 11. Let the bidding begin.
  17. Joe Greene did a Coke commercial ? Can you post it here ? Those are 2 things that make me smile.
  18. Those were great times. Fermia Neeley, DeLonte Taylor, Pat Hicks, and Kenneth Lyons. When Lyons was a freshman shooting free throws, he'd wait for the ref back at mid court. then, as if he were stalking something, sneak up to the line and shoot. He was always very aggressive and intense. He and Mark Aguire had a thing. Aguire was with the #1 DePaul Blue Demons( or what ever they are). Both were at each other in Chicago and back here for round 2. Lyons had as much of Aguire as he could stand. Lyons threw Aguire over the North Texas bench. OVER the NT bench. What a great game. Congratulations Kenneth. Best wishes for even more success. GO MEAN GREEN
  19. Mantle, Marris, Howard, Ford, McCarney, Berra, Pepitone, to say nothing of Yankee greats from the past. When i started watching baseball, there was no Rangers, no Astros, not even the Colt 45s. Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese told me all I needed to know about baseball. And it was spelled Y-A-N-K-E-E-S. GO MEAN GREEN
  20. The cool thing about this, is that the University could only afford turf to the 30 yard line. But with Empire's new promotion, we can afford to cover the entire field. Just call 1-800 588-2300 EMPIRE. Today.
  21. That's it. What does N-C-K-T-R-U-G mean thanks
  22. I was at the Coach's Caravan in Denton Tuesday night. Good time, and lots of Mean Green friends. Across the room, I saw a young man, about 12, wearing a ball cap I've never seen before. His name is Jordan and I asked him about his cap. He said it was his baseball team, the North Texas 'raiders.' Or something llike that. But this logo was cool. I don't have the skills to illustrate it here, but imagine the New York Yankees logo. Now, replace the "Y" with a "T" and there it is. I took a picture of Jordan's cap and I'll try to post it here. but in the meantime, could one of you really smart guys try creating this "NT" Yankees look. Thanks and GO MEAN GREEN
  23. Assuming a sell-out for each game, that's only $60. per fan. That part is very do able. It's that 30,000 average that's gonna be hard. GO MEAN GREEN
  24. Good points. I assure you that my suggestion was not intended as disrespect for my home state. Just as an opportunity to "own" the song.
  25. It was during the Winslow era that the drumline dressed differently from the rest of the band and started waving their sticks to the rhythm of the music. I thought that they were mocking the alma mater. I still think that was their intent. Somehow, the waving of sticks became waving of the Eagle claw or talon. And for most NT fans, it is embraced as a show of support. I don't do it because of my preception from years ago. Back when Dr. Wimslow was director, I left the stands to go to the Fred McCain room for food or drink. I just couldn't watch a band that seemed so apart from the rest of Saturday's activities. I don't feel that way now. I would however, like to see the Green Brigade play "Texas, Our Texas." I've never heard a college band play it regularly. It could be almost another North Texas Alma Mater since no one else is doing it. The lyrics could be modified from "Texas, our Texas..." to "Texas, North Texas, all hail the mighty state."
