  1. How many feet of heat will she be required to provide ?
  2. I love this board. I thought this was so funny, I called my wife and walked her through this thread. She says we're stupid.
  3. And this would be 2 "head coach-to-head coach" hires in a row. Welcome back Coach Aston. GO MEAN GREEN PS...After looking over the UN-C Women's basketball site, I noticed that former NT ass't Angela Ortega is / was on the Aston staff. I wonder if Ortega might come back to North Texas as well ?
  4. There are some really nice homes on Tremont Street in the Denia neighborhood. Some back up to the old golf course. An easy walk to the Athletic Center. Plus, Coach Mac could get one of those windshield passes if he wanted to drive on Willowwood within 1 1/2 hours of kickoff.
  5. I have it on good authority that Tidwell would take the North Texas job if offered.
  6. I understand you are currently staying at the Homewood suites. Are you looking to buy/build a home and if so, where ?
  7. Name tags couold be worn with a t-shirt, a polo shirt, on the lapel of a sport jacket, or on a ball cap. A name tag won't get so dirty a quick wipe with a paper towel can't clean it. And lastly, ONE SIZE FITS ALL. No need to ask it the name tag is 100% cotton, etc.
  8. Seems to me we could cram (sorry Mark) another 150 seats in there and have a 31,000 seating stadium.
  9. Try this experiment... Wear something with "Mean Green" on it and if anybody comments about it. In English.
  10. This is the greatest hijack of an otherwise harmless thread that I have ever seen. But if there's more interest in name tags (green name tags) than in power gloves, I'll find out what the cost would be. We could even include "member since" information if desired. And the number of power gloves one has at home.
  11. How would the GMG family feel about GOMEANGREEN.COM name tags ? I envision a green plastic tag with a magnetic backing with one's GMG name and the member's real name. I go to events and later hear of other GMG members being at the same event but I have no idea who some of you are. On the other hand, do most of the GMG members perfer to be invisible ? to be able to voice opinions or ideas that they'd rather not be associated with in person ? Just a thought. And I get to pick the shade of green. My idea. GO MEAN GREEN
  12. Thank you Mark for taking your time, and probably some of your money to make this event happen. Thhis was such a good event, my wife even attended and asked a question of Coach McCarney. She had a good time, hence, I had a good time. Thanks again.
  13. http://www.flickr.co...307321012/show/ This was really fun. The Bride's family was dressed in Green and the Groom's family in White. The Bride's Mom fell a week or so ago and broke her ankle. she is the one in the wheelchair, although she was able to stand for pictures. These are great fans and they are looking foward to buying season tickets and watching Mean Green history. They've already made some Mean Green history by holding their wedding at the new stadium. It was windy Saturday, but everybody seemed to have a great time. I hope to see them in September when we beat Houston. Thanks to the Bride and Groom. Go Mean Green
  14. Is it out of the question that a first time head coach be offered less than a 5 year contract ? Unless she's making that much as an assistant, a $110,000 per year deal sounds great to me. And everybody wants the same thing. For NT to win. The Coach wants to win, the AD wants to win, the fans want to win, and the players want to win. So, if everybody wants the same thing, why wouldn't a 2 year contract with a 2 year renewable option be acceptable to everybody ? When acceptable progress is shown, we want to reward that coach with another 2 years. And again, this is more money that she's making as an assistant. There's no other industry that would enter into such a deal. And the contract is ony binding on one side-the University's. If the coach gets a call from Old Dominion or Baylor, she's gone. So what does the contract really do. Except keep a bad coach in a good job. With good money.
  15. If RV and Rowlins will spend the money, and Van still wants to coach, here is my choice for the next Woman's coach. He just stepped down at LSU. Wouldn't it be ironic if North Texas hired the Coach away from LSU ? I know, I know, he stepped down, but some how, we hired away the LSU Coach.
  16. I thought that myself as well. So I called the Ticket office. The very nice lady that I spoke with told me that seats wouold be chosen through the magic of the virtual stadium seating, since, as she said, the stadium seats would not yet be installed. 30 or so years ago, when I bought my Coliseum seats, I chose the second row so I wouldn't have to deal this the rail issue.
  17. Here's what I understand. April 1, Mean Green Points are frozen for purposes of seat selection. April 18, appointment times are sent out via certified mail. Here's where I run into questions... How can I plan for my 10 minute window of selection time May 9 ? Will I be asked to come in in the morning, noon afternoon, or evening ? Do I need to make the whole day available ? Also, the "seat selection site" mentioned in the brochure-Where is that ? It also says a "development officer will escort the donor to the selection room." We have a development room ? I suddenly have a "Soylent Green" flashback. Finally, I'm concerned about sitting on the front row. How high will the railing be ? Do I have to stretch to see over it or sit low in my seat to see under it. All this, and the University is doing away with Homecoming King and Queen. AHHHH
  18. I saw it. and while any mention is better than no mention, I would prefer we be called NORTH TEX, or NORTH TX, instead of NO TEXAS. Isn't there some Sports Information office that is supposed to get in touch with TV and radio and tell them these things ? ( ie; Mean Green, not Green Wave, UNT not NTU, the true story behind the nickname "Mean Green" )
  19. Duck Mav ? (crickets)
  20. Since any "extra" money I have is going to my Stadium committment, I can't help that way. But I'm ready to stuff Kleenex in chicken wire (if that's the way it is still done) to create a float. But we've got to get word out early enough to plan, store, and work on this beast. And I think North Texas should be the first University people think of when there is a "green" parade. Lemme know. I'll help. And I'm sure others will as well.
  21. Parade where ? Was the OU float sponsored by the University of Oklahoma ? The Notre Dame float sponsored by that university ? I'm certainly not connected with the goings on around the Metroplex, but I'd help decorate a float next year if I was given a bit of notice before hand.
  22. So nobody knows ?
  23. And that was exactly my point. so, again, how many students voted and what percentage of the student body did that represent ? Please respond in numbers.
  24. I was just asked by a local business person when homecoming would be. Which I think is a good sign. I guessing Oct 22 against UL Monroe. What do you think ?
