  1. Mantle, Marris, Howard, Ford, McCarney, Berra, Pepitone, to say nothing of Yankee greats from the past. When i started watching baseball, there was no Rangers, no Astros, not even the Colt 45s. Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese told me all I needed to know about baseball. And it was spelled Y-A-N-K-E-E-S. GO MEAN GREEN
  2. The cool thing about this, is that the University could only afford turf to the 30 yard line. But with Empire's new promotion, we can afford to cover the entire field. Just call 1-800 588-2300 EMPIRE. Today.
  3. That's it. What does N-C-K-T-R-U-G mean thanks
  4. I was at the Coach's Caravan in Denton Tuesday night. Good time, and lots of Mean Green friends. Across the room, I saw a young man, about 12, wearing a ball cap I've never seen before. His name is Jordan and I asked him about his cap. He said it was his baseball team, the North Texas 'raiders.' Or something llike that. But this logo was cool. I don't have the skills to illustrate it here, but imagine the New York Yankees logo. Now, replace the "Y" with a "T" and there it is. I took a picture of Jordan's cap and I'll try to post it here. but in the meantime, could one of you really smart guys try creating this "NT" Yankees look. Thanks and GO MEAN GREEN
  5. Assuming a sell-out for each game, that's only $60. per fan. That part is very do able. It's that 30,000 average that's gonna be hard. GO MEAN GREEN
  6. Good points. I assure you that my suggestion was not intended as disrespect for my home state. Just as an opportunity to "own" the song.
  7. It was during the Winslow era that the drumline dressed differently from the rest of the band and started waving their sticks to the rhythm of the music. I thought that they were mocking the alma mater. I still think that was their intent. Somehow, the waving of sticks became waving of the Eagle claw or talon. And for most NT fans, it is embraced as a show of support. I don't do it because of my preception from years ago. Back when Dr. Wimslow was director, I left the stands to go to the Fred McCain room for food or drink. I just couldn't watch a band that seemed so apart from the rest of Saturday's activities. I don't feel that way now. I would however, like to see the Green Brigade play "Texas, Our Texas." I've never heard a college band play it regularly. It could be almost another North Texas Alma Mater since no one else is doing it. The lyrics could be modified from "Texas, our Texas..." to "Texas, North Texas, all hail the mighty state." 8. I had a great time last night. It's always great to hear form Coach Mac. He said that he'd bought a house in Denton. I was glad to hear that. He's going about 150 MPH all the time. I brought someone with me that was not a Mean Green supporter. In fact, something of a "boo-bird." I don't know if we converted them or not last night, but I know they were impressed with the turnout and the energy in the room. I was disapointed to not hear from Coach Aston. I thought she would have been there as well as more coaches. Find a time and attend a Coach's Caravan when it comes to a venue near you. Well worth the time. GO MEAN GREEN
  9. Harry and GO MEAN GREEN...Forever linked Happy Birthday
  10. I selected today (Tuesday). The whole process was very pro. I got exactly the seats I had hoped for. I look foward to visiting with Mean Green fans tonight at the first Coach's Caravan. GO MEAN GREEN
  11. Just like Seinfeld. A show about nothing.
  12. I'd like to know of seat locations of those that have picked. Who is sitting where ? Please list your name and your seat location.
  13. I'd like to lose the player's name on the back of the jersey. That's why we have numbers on jerseys. Besides the name on the front of the jersey is more important. Just don't put anything besides a number on the back. GO MEAN GREEN
  14. Are the previous seat selections shown with the name of the buyer or just some code number ?
  15. How about a helmet with "Not North Texas State" on each side ?
  16. too late. You've already been had
  17. Although they have a hard time getting by North Texas
  18. I was excited to go to the Post Office this morning (W) to get my letter. They brought out a bunch of Mean Green and I saw lots of names I knew. But mine wasn't among them. When I turned around, I saw a Mean Green friend and she said she was there for her letter. Then, 5 or 6 other people in line chimed in that they too wee there for their seat letter. I felt like I was in a great fun gang of NT friends. This method probably isn't perfect, but the Post Office did call me and they found my letter. Yippee. GO MEAN GREEN
  19. Best Dan Akroyd voice, "We're gettin' the band back together."
  20. When I was little, one of my favorite books was "Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel." Mike and his steam shovel were known far and wide as the best at digging. So, upon this occasion, they were digging the basement for a big building and they were up against a deadline. So Mike and his steam shovel dug, and dug and dug and the basement was finished and the building completed on time. And under budget (I made that part up). But when the smoke cleared, Mike and the Steam Shovel was stuck in the basement with no was to get out. Sooooo...the steam shovel bucket was removed and the steam shovel's boiler used to heat the building. Happy ending. So my question to you is, how are those 6 or 8 big earth moving machines going to get out of the playing area ? Will they be air lifted out ? Be buried ? Is there need for a boiler in the middle of a football field ? I've looked around the sides of the playing surface and I don't see how these big machines get out. Dissambled ? 22. Great find AAUNT.I liked the news story. Everything except their theft of our nickname.
  23. I wonder if the Denia neighborhood group will expect any special street closures for a concert or other large non-football event ?
  24. "I want to be around my teammates."
  25. Is the bus to be used the Regal Eagle (with the wrong NT logo) or some old school bus (and you have to stay seated at all times).
