  2. Does this letter appear in today's Chat, err...North Texas Daily ?
  3. I still like RV PARK. But Apogee Stadium is nice as well. Happy Birthday Rick. Thank you for all you do for our University. GO RICK GO MEAN GREEN
  4. Could someone post his stats ? He rarely gets thrown to and when the ball comes his way, well, ... Perhaps he will get better and contribute to the team. GO MEAN GREEN
  5. And he's probably used to that. GO MEAN GREEN

  6. I'm here in Tulsa and I've ben walking around downtown, Utica Square, and the Cherry St. area. There are 2 teams in Tulsa. OU and Okie State. Even with a home game this afternoon, the Tulsa World Sports section features 3 Texans playing for OU that "haven't lived up to expectations" dominating the front page. The Tulsa game is a small article to the right of the OU article. I went to dinner last night with some business people that live here. They agreed-OU/OSU are the only team that matters here. Those people thought 15,000 would be about the attendance today. There's lots to compare between Tulsa and NT. Tulsa is a great city. I've enjoyed my very shourt time here. GO MEAN GREEN. Beat Tulsa by 1/2 point.
  7. And it's GREEN
  8. I was in the NT Bookstore this morning (f) and they had NT battleflags for sale. I didn't stop to look at a price but there seems to be 5 or 6 on display. GO MEAN GREEN
  9. NT 24 TULSA 21
  10. He needs to win based on something more than being the Mean Green Coach. Win 5 or 6. Win the Conference. Win a bowl game. Then he'll be recognized by more than an insurance company poll. GO MEAN GREEN
  11. I'm sorry. Did Plumm say something ?
  12. Whenever North Texas loses, it's because North Texas is bad. Whenever North Texas wins, it's because the opponent is bad. Just win baby. GO MEAN GREEN
  13. Take NT and the points. Bet the farm. GO MEAN GREEN
  14. They're old jerseys must have been some kind of ugly. Starting this weekend GO MEAN GREEN
  15. Other FBS teams play schools like Stephen F or Sam Houston. We could play South Carolina STATE and hope that people misunderstand who we're playing. Or see if McNeese State would ask Riley and Darius for directions to Denton. But if we can't get a home-and-home, with a stadium like Apogee, let's just have a 6th or 7th home game and raise the per ticket price a couple of bucks. And if we have to play a money game per year, it's $1 million. I betcha Texas would have paid 1 mil for a 6th win last season. But for now, Beat Indiana. GO MEAN GREEN
  16. Joe I think I might go with a sell out now. When was the last time we played a Big 10 team in Denton? New Stadium, nice weather and our team seems to be improving, are you guys kidding me this is going to be record setting. Everyone has heard of the Hoosiers. Rockem Sockem we are going to Win baby!!! * * * * As hard as it was for me to believe, North Texas has NEVER played a Big 10 school. NEVER. This seems like a good time for us to OWN the Big 10 Conference. GO MEAN GREEN
  17. We gotta win. Plain and simple. Winning gets us noticed. Losing makes us a punchline. Winning will solve attendance problems and get us more home games and therefore lessen the need for money games. Many are quick to criticize the Sun Belt. The Sun Belt is our home conference and we have not been doing well in what some have described as a weak conference. We need to talk up the Sun Belt and win there. The rest will take care of itself. GO MEAN GREEN
  18. The good. Fans will come back because of the great time they had 2 weeks ago. Some will go to their first game at Apogee. And it's Parent's Weekend. Lots of students and Mom and Dad will come if not for just the first half. If we're doing well, they might stay. The bad. I've heard it said parking was difficult. Some had to walk as far as they would going to the mall. My prediction, we break the all-time attendance record at Apogee. 29,220 watch a Mean Green win. GO MEAN GREEN
  19. I just called the Director of Bands (Tu. 9-20) and asked if the Green Brigade was going to Tulsa. "For the game?" she asked. Anyway, I was sent to someone else. This lady told me that Tulsa had contacted NT and told them that there would be NO halftime show. There will be, according to this lady in the Music dept. a "Make a Wish Foundation" event. Not even the Tulsa band is performing. She said the GB had planned to perform and that busses ordered had to be cancelled. Now, when is the last time you went to a football game and there was NO halftime show. Aside from your kid's middle school game. So go to the Tulsa game and Make a Wish. My wish is a Mean Green win. GO MEAN GREEN
  20. I'm sold. GO MEAN GREEN
  21. I wonder how barbecued elephant would taste ? I'd love to find out Saturday night. Maybe the Tide players have read that they're 99 point favorites. Pass the elephant, please; GO MEAN GREEN
  22. Go Belt GO FIU GO MEAN GREEN
  23. September 15, 2011 National site uses UNT as a punchline, first in a series of Q&As 9:10 AM Thu, Sep 15, 2011 | Permalink Brett Vito E-mail News tips I keep mentioning what a long, tough road Dan McCarney is going to have to travel at UNT to pull it out of the hole that was dug in spectacular fashion over the last four years. I came across another example of why that is today. UNT is already in ESPN's Bottom 10 this week, and now CBS Sports used the Mean Green as its punch line in a story ... about Memphis ... in the lead. "Having followed North Texas for the past several years, I know a thing or two about bad football." Yikes. Here's a link: What does UNT have to do with Memphis?strong> Since UNT is playing Alabama this week and I am the only guy who covers the program outside of the student newspaper, I have been asked to be on two radio shows -- the first was last night -- and do a series of Q&As with the Alabama papers. Here's what I got back in my swap with Chase Goodbread, the fine Alabama writer at the Tuscaloosa News. If you want to check out his Alabama coverage, you can follow this link
  24. When a scholarship player quits the team, is he required to repay the University for the expenses he incurred ? If he's still in school, does he pay from here on ? GO MEAN GREEN
