Why does the Athletic Department have so many new unused shoes ? Are they buying wrong ? Aren't the shoes still usable for new players ? And what kind of facility have all these items been stored in for several years ? I know it was billed as a "garage sale" but no garage sale I've ever been to has had merchandise so poorly displayed. Next year I'm going to volunteer my wife to whip this thing into shape. A fun afternoon anyway. Nice to see friends during the off season. GO MEAN GREEN

The title of this thread is that Lundy was offered and turned the job down. It sounds like he did have a chance.

An offer to be the head guy at his own program and I would think the opportunity to make more money ? And he turned it down ? It sounds like to me that he is sincere and wants to do what he can here. I appreciate his not wanting to "jump ship" and make this past season a really unpleasant memory. GO MEAN GREEN

Knowing Hayden Fry has God-like status around here, I'm probably taking my life in my hands. One only wonders where North Texas would be today had we stayed in the MVC. Likely we would have been a charter member of Conference USA. The hope of becoming an independent holding out for a bid into the now-defunct SWC never panned out. Would the SWC still have folded ? Would Houston, Rice, and Southern Meth still have joined CUSA ? Instead of being the new guys in CUSA, we would have been the old line CUSA school. Hinesight being 20/20 and all. GO MEAN GREEN

I'm frustrated as well. However, not attending games only proves what some recruits already think-that playing at North Texas means playing to only 2,500 fans. And the notion of booing a coach at the Coach's Caravan is not only a bad PR idea, it's rude. If one is unhappy with a coach or an AD employee or a program, a letter to the AD will get his attention and, I would think, a written reply. I don't know if a single letter will get the desired results or not, but a flood of letters would certainly get some consideration. GO MEAN GREEN

We need to at least the illusion that the new C-USA is not the same thing as the old Sun Belt Conference. I keep hoping that some team, a great team with a great tradition, in a big market area, that is a household name, that somehow everybody has overlooked, will come calling and ask to join. How did the University of Phoenix do last season ? GO MEAN GREEN

Cajun fans would tell you they have been The University of Louisiana since they ceased being South Western Louisiana (?). I've never been to a game there but I've always heard good things about their game day festivities. GO MEAN GREEN

I would like to see NT eligible for a bowl in at least 4 of 5 years. I think 6-7 win seasons should be a norm. I'd like NT to have an average attendance of 25K. Year in. Year out. That is very attainable. And, with our 25K average, we won't have to play games where we are usually overmatched to get a pay check. Our basketball teams should at least flirt with top 25-30 4 of 5 years. Our fans should rally to buy season tickets and join the Mean Green Club without being bagered to do so.

I like that. Make no mistake, I want us to win, but despite not achieving all we should have, after 100 years of trying, I have met some terrific people and had some wonderful experiences following North Texas football. But I want to win. I want to win now. GO MEAN GREEN

Of the 19 listed, 2 are current students, 6 are alums and I see no one listed from Athletics (although there may be names listed from the AD that I don't recognize). I wonder how many of this list are season ticket holders ? We seem to change presidents much more frequently than chancellors. GO MEAN GREEN

I will never understand why all these supporters of North Texas continue to refer to our (former) logo as a worm. It's an Eagle in the same style as the Power Cat on the Kansas State helmets. I promise you that when Hayden Fry never asked for a new logo that would be refered to as a worm. GO MEAN GREEN

Yup. Tulane and Memphis and East Carolina and maybe Houston. And work really hard to keep Tulsa. With few exceptions I really like our CUSA. GO MEAN GREEN
