I went by yesterday. The reliefs have been removed from the student side(what a relief !). I looked through the fence and couldn't see them stored on site, though they probably are. From what I saw, Fouts is not giving up without a fight. The tunnel where NT came out is demolished and just a bit of the stands at about the 20 yard line have been started.

Tape would help. I would suggest that Scotch BLue Painter's tape as it will come clean when removed. I will have some blue tape strips to contribute. Bring your neighbor and your family. This could be a really fun event and a great opportunity to put a friendly face behind North Texas Football. GO MEAN GREEN

If possible, could you come to the Alumni Center Aug 17 and snag some schedule posters for Lewisville ? This would make our Poster Pow Wow a bit more impressive in terms of distribution. If that's not possible, let me know here or via PM and I'll get some schedule posters to you. And anyone else that has a "non-Denton" location inmind, let me know. Come to think of it, we have businesses in Lake Dallas, Corinth, Pilot Point Krum, Decatur, etc that need some green in their town. Help us . GO MEAN GREEN

I. for one, hope the band doesn't show up in shorts. I just can't get used to any musician, of any kind of music, wearing shorts. I understand it's hot. It was hot 45 years ago when I was in school and the band marched in their uniforms. Their complete uniforms. GO MEAN GREEN

I spoke with Hank last night and he is getting us 200 schedule posters and 200 schedule cups to distribute August 10 (Saturday) at 10 AM. We will meet at the Alumni Pavillion and split up into groups and cover Denton in green. This is a project that all GMG members can help with. Even if you just stop by and pick up 6 or 8 posters, that's 6 or 8 more locations covered. We'll need posters on the square, golden Triangle Mall, the new shopping areas on Loop 288, up and down University Drive, as well as the University area. Find a way to get out and help with this important, easy and fun project. Sign up here and bring a buddy. And bring a brush. We're painting the town GREEN !! GO MEAN GREEN

How about Aug 17 about 10am ? I'd like to get these things out ASAP. Please look at your schedules and find a way to help. In the meantime, I'll check with the AD and see about schedule posters. GO MEAN GREEN

A year or two ago, several members of GMG met at what would become the Alumni Center next to Apogee, spread out and distributed schedule posters around town. If other members would like to do that again, I will contact the Athletic Dept. about getting a bunch of posters. With 10 GMG members @ 20 posters each, we could be done in an hour. Maybe sell a season ticket or two as well. Is anybody in on a Saturday morning ? GO MEAN GREEN

It's interesting to note that the names inscribed on the steel wall in slide #3 are actually the names of Oregon fans that don't like the Duck's uniforms.

It wasn't an option, but I would have voted Southern Miss. They have a tradition that I admire and would like to have for North Texas. I hope we will travel well to each other's venues. I'm very sorry Tulsa is leaving next year as Tulsa, the city, is a really great town. I don't know much about UTSA, but I really like going to San Antonio. GO MEAN GREEN

I recall Darrell Dickey saying that if his players wore a ball cap, that it WOULD be a North Texas cap. If they chose to wear another school's gear, he reasoned, they should enroll at that school. I couldn't agree more. And I am on the record as favoring green shirts. Every school uses white and gray, and now, even pink. North Texas shirts should always be green. GO MEAN GREEN

A " horned frog" is actually a lizard, and North Texas fans are stupid ? It seems to me that a school that puts a lizard on it's helmet and calls it a frog, and a TCU fan that is fascinated with NT, and calls himself "froggy" (a lizard ?) might also qualify as stupid. The TCU fighting lizards might be an improvement. GO MEAN GREEN

I remember years ago, when we went to Lubbock (and came back with the tortilla tradition) to play Tech. TT had recently gotten their indoor practice facility and the concensus was that since TT had more/better facilities, NT would likely lose the game. Lo and behold, North Texas won. That's a long way to go to say, given the choice between an indoor practice facility and a varsity baseball program, I'll choose baseball every time. The number of sports that a university participates in does not include "indoor practice facility. Play ball GO MEAN GREEN
