DT is CUSA offensive player of the week!
greenjoe replied to Travis Scott's topic in Mean Green Football
DT spelled backwards is TD. Shock the nation. Beat Georgia GO MEAN GREEN -
While I hate being the punch line in this joke, I like being included in a Hitler funny. I really like those HItler shorts. It will be really funny if we can upset Georgia. GO MEAN GREEN

Idaho player claims big hit on UNT's Zach Orr
greenjoe replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I was at a different game than Epps. All I saw in the highlights were Zorr making big hits, recovering a fumble, and "taking Epps apart." Your mileage may differ. Beat Ohio GO MEAN GREEN -

North Texas Football Stadium Intro 2013
greenjoe replied to ColoradoEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I lost it for Chuck Norris the last time we played Texas and he showed which side he was on with a "hook 'em" to the crowd. By the way, I missed the "thanks Mean Joe" Coke commercial. Did they play it ? Beat Ohio GO MEAN GREEN -

Who is this guy and how do I find his tailor?
greenjoe replied to oldguystudent's topic in Mean Green Football
During the Fry era, Coach Fry created the Mean Green Club and the Mean Green 100. The MG100 was made up of donors that gave $1,000. Per season and this iconic green blazer was among the perks. The MG100 was limited to 100 members per year, and there was a waiting list. Fry would later be awarded the Otis Fowler Award by the Denton Chamber of Commerce as the most significant person in Denton that year. GO MEAN GREEN -

It's gonna be painfully hot on Saturday
greenjoe replied to meangreener's topic in Mean Green Football
If 100 young men can put on 20 lbs. of pads and work all summer to perform in 100 degree heat, surely I can arrive about 4:30 and sit in the same heat and cheer them to victory. GO MEAN GREEN -
There's really not a lot of time between "Fire in the hole" and "Boom", is there ? Boomer is one of my favorite North Texas traditions. I hope we score so much this year the barrel melts. GO MEAN GREEN

What will the creation of Texas A & M College of Law in Ft. Worth ( the old Texas Wesleyan College of Law) do to the other public law school planned for Dallas, UNT College of Law ? This will create 2 public law schools in the DFW area. Will UNT law continue ? And will it's graduates go to North Texas football games ? (see...there is a football tie in) GO MEAN GREEN

Well golly. From that, we can guess that you're not coming for the Rice game or the Washington State (?) game. So which game are you coming to ?

Thoughts on the importance of highly-rated players, walk-on
greenjoe replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Well for one thing, a player from Texas is cheaper to put on scholarship. To say nothing of his mom and dad and grandparents and his next door neighbors wanting easy access to watching him play. And I've always liked the notion of watching Texas kids play at a University called North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN- 9 replies

Go to the downtown square. It's a short drive from Apogee (2.4 miles according to Google Maps), but there will be a number of palces available to you there. Many of which, you will like. Downtown has food, drinks, music and a good"walkin' around atmosphere." And the beautiful women that North Texas is famous for. Welcome to Denton. GO MEAN GREEN Thanks Christopher. I stand corrected. I got this yesterday. It's the day before our first game. Dinner and cocktails begins at 6:30p and the program begins at 7:30p. Cost is $125. per person. It's back at the very nice Club Level in Apogee Stadium. All the coaches will be riding herd on the players at whatever hotel they're staying in. The invitation did not mention who the program will be but probably the introduction of the all-century team. FYI GO MEAN GREEN

Tulsa, and of course New Orleans, are great cities. I went to the game in Tulsa last season and had the opportunity to visit some shopping areas, a festival, some watering holes, and a wonderful Episcopal Church downtown. I'm very sorry to see Tulsa leave CUSA. I hope we can beat them on their way out. New Orleans speaks for itself. Re-consider Tulsa and Tulane. Come back and all is forgiven. GO MEAN GREEN

ULM to start offering beer at football games
greenjoe replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Beer sales, when it happens, will be limited to the "alumni" side of the stadium and no beer can be taken back to the "student" side. Also, beer sales will stop at the end of the 3rd quarter. There is a lot to the Club Level that is not alcohol. The Hospitality Department puts on a first class meal with linen table cloths and linen napkins and a desert selection that would make the most zealous dieter cheat a bit. The glassed in ballroom offers a cool place to go early in the season and a warm spot to drink hot chocolate or coffee when it gets cold. Other college games are shown before the North Texas kickoff. Buying Club Level seats has been the best part of Apogee Stadium for me. Hurry August 13. Beat Idaho GO MEAN GREEN -
