On the other hand, NOT showing our game on stadium televisions, it would seem, would encourage one to stay in their seat and watch OUR game. It got cold last night and many in the Club chose to stay indoors to talk and drink. I spent the lunch hour with a current Denton City Council member that was in attendance at the Council meeting last night. He told me that the Convention Center is not dead. The Convention Center on UNT property is dead. There is still a desire on the part of the Council to have a Convention Center/hotel built, just not there. Other sites include the corner of University Drive @ I-35 and the vacant land immediately north of Denton Regional Medical Center. Near the Medpark Rail Station. Beat FAU GO MEAN GREEN

One of my favorite thing to do is to go into a big box store with all the UT and OU stuff around and ask a clerk where the North Texas section is. It's like putting an Aggie in a round room and telling them to sit in the corner. Beat Rice GO MEAN GREEN

When you go in the Denton Academy, ask every clerk you see where the North Texas gear is. We need as many sales people as possible to hear the words "North Texas." The College Inn was a private apartment building managed by my classmate's dad. The big apartment building on Fry Street was called the UNIVERSITY HOUSE and was built about the same time (1967). I didn't realize it until I called my classmate just now, but his father managed the University house before getting the job at the College Inn. Beat UAB GO MEAN GREEN

Big Mike's was the location of Marvin Loveless Studios for decades. There were apartments above Loveless Studios as well as a few converted into small offices. Mr. Loveless was a photographer and did a zillion Denton school photos. During his time there, he bought a good bit of property on Hickory and Fry. There were some frat houses eastward on Hickory including the Geezle House. There was also a house on the corner of Hickory @ Welch for a time. I love to visit about what used to be around the NT campus. How about Griff's hamburgers where Jack in the Box is now. Or the Burger King where the Art Building is now. I even remember when the fire station on Ave. B was up and running. Beat UAB GO MEAN GREEN

I've always liked the checkerboard pattern at Tennessee. And any shade of green is green. Blue is never green. Red is never green. Pink is never green. My favorite thing to do when I see a person wearing an alien t-shirt is to ask, "when were you at Tech ?" Usually they reply that their dad or girlfriend or brother went there. I remind them that we (NT) needs them more than OU or Notre Dame. Beat Indiana GO MEAN GREEN
