  1. And I understand that he has switched to diet Pepsi.
  2. I was at the NT-UTEP game last month and I never saw anyone out of line regardless of school. I was sitting on the NT side about the 20 yard line with what few NT fans (likely parents) there were. I saw no drunks and no one was anything but polite to me. GO CUSA GO MEAN GREEN
  3. I was in New Orleans this weekend. I forgot about the New Orleans Bowl until we passed the Super Dome on our way to the hotel and i saw the ULL Football trailer. Anyway, i'm sitting in a bar Sunday afternoon and I start talking to a ULL fan while watching the Cowboys game. I tell him I'm a "sorta" Ragin' Cajan fan and he looks at my green windbreaker with Mean Green and the new logo on the front. And he asks me, "So, you're a Green Wave fan ?" This guy is a dentist and a ULL fan and didn't recognize a North Texas Mean Green logo. And we think we've come so far. GO MEAN GREEN
  4. it's too bad Warren Buffet"s grandson didn't read about UAB
  5. I suspected that. However, haven't we offered kids with less than impressive speed and low grades that WEREN'T first team All State in the past ? Someone tell me how many first team All State players we have on the roster right now ? And I'm the first to remind everyone that I can't spell recruitment. GO MEAN GREEN
  6. It seems to me that North Texas has had a long line of top quality place kickers as well as punters. Congratulations to a North Texas All-American
  7. I read in this morning's Denton Record-Chronicle that Denton High Wide Receiver KeyAndre Hearvey was named All State First Team. First, I'm really glad for this young man but secondly, for Denton High to have a first team All-Stater is huge. DHS went 3 games into the playoffs before getting ousted but this shows a lot of improvement for the Broncos. So why doesn't a First Team guy have any offers yet and why isn't NT the first to offer him ? I hope someone at NT will drive to 1007 Fulton Street and check on this guy. GO BRONCOS GO MEAN GREEN
  8. And, to borrow from another list, "Thou shalt not steal." GO MEAN GREEN
  9. I sure like somebody to contact NT alum Danny Kaspar. GO MEAN GREEN
  10. Plus, we get to use the word "Seneca" from time to time. GO MEAN GREEN
  11. It was pointed out to me that these "off-the-field" issues seem to be exclusively for football and basketball players. When I heard that, it occurred to me I had never heard of a volleyball player or swimmer or golfer or soccer player involved in these OTF problems. Obvious when pointed out but I'd never made the connection before. GO MEAN GREN
  12. College basketball players, rightly or wrongly, are minor celebrities in the city of the university. I wonder if they realize that as such, if they commit a crime that their name and picture will be published in the local newspaper ? I was thinking if this were explained to them, their behavior might be better. Although they know stealing is stealing and they have known it since grade school. But the realization of a photo for mom and dad and grandma to see might restrain bad behavior. GO MEAN GREEN
  13. Did no one notice the post DEEP GREEN made as to the Athletic Department charging the University to use Apogee Stadium ? Well played and apparently unnoticed. GO MEAN GREEN
  14. Nothing says cUSA like ARMY. Ask 'em. GO MEAN GREEN
  15. I'm sure I'm the only one that had to look this up. NEW JERSEY INSTITUTE of TECHNOLOGY Invite ARMY to CUSA GO MEAN GREEN
  16. Sign me up for Army. Not for the Army you understand. Somebody ask Army to join CUSA. GO ARMY GO MEAN GREEN
  17. So it's not a commit at all. "I'll go the dance with you unless that other guy asks me."
  18. I know we're talking about a teenager here, but what is a "soft commit" ?
  19. Well then why did we offer such a slow player ? While our record this year is not what we expected, this recruit wants to go to a school that went 0-12. Southern Meth could have not suited up and gone 0-12. GO MEAN GREEN
  20. I would like to see CUSA add a program that the 'man-on-the-street' has heard of. I may be kidding myself that that same man has heard of North Texas but I'd like to think so nonetheless. Maybe give Tulsa, Houston, or Tulane an opportunity to come back. And, the well known program looking to join CUSA may not exist but I'd like to distance NT from the Sun Belt as best as we can. Perhaps we should just play with 13 members for a while and see who, if anybody, contacts us. Beat somebody GO MEAN GREEN
  21. I never heard the term "scoop and score" until Coach Mac got here. Like Meangreenacct I was upset at the time, but had an odd shaped ball bounced our way, we'd be falling over ourselves to congratulate Zac for a gutsy move. It was perhaps the proper signature to end this season. Just wait 'til next year. GO MEAN GREEN
  22. And, when the neighbors call the police to turn you in for making so much noise, and the officer asks you why you're making so much noise, you're gonna say, "We finally beat UTSA !" And instead of carting you off to jail, they will take yo to a mental health facility. Please forgive the world's longest run-on sentence. Wait 'til next year GO MEAN GREEN
  23. I'm listening to the TV broadcast. the announcers said DaJon Williams didn't make the trip. What's up ? GMG
  24. We could have made them a great deal on some slightly used aluminum bleachers. That alone would have increased their capacity to 30,000. Beat UTSA GO MEAN GREEN
  25. I'd like to corect that attendance total. I was working at the 32nd annual Turkey Roll Bicycle Rally and wasn't able to get to Apogee until just after halftime. I was impressed that no one checked my parking pass, looked at my ticket at the outside gate, or checked me at the Club Level entrance. Oh, and DId missed the meal as well. Anyway, the correct total should be 14,825. Beat UTSA GO MEAN GREEN
