I think you guys will take Loser Tech; they are sweating Idaho big time! It would be GREAT for SBC Football if both stAte and NT win these games. Go Mean Green!! Go SBC Football!!!!
-
stAte 7, Tiger High 6 in the 1st Qtr; I think we will win this year, but it will be a close game! This is a big rivalry game as the schools are about 1 hour apart; our oldest rival!
-
I think they should add Appy State or Georgia Southern as a travel partner for Loser Tech . . . LOL! Seriously, this may be in relation to the new 'upgrade' agenda just agreed upon by the 9 presidents. It could go the way of Temple and the Big East -- someone may get booted for not meeting the upgrade criteria, as agreed upon.

Whew! Off Week after GUTSY WIN IN OT!

You guys should, per the latest Sagarin rankings, beat Loser Tech. You owe them for last year and they have been outscored badly; their defense is . . . . #124 Louisiana Tech A = 59.31 #125 North Texas A = 59.24 -
Click here: http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/mailbagESPN?event_id=9295 and give your comments as relates to the little guys playing the big guys in college football. I would prefer Pro Football if the only option were to watch the Big 10 play the SEC, etc. Give me more David vs Goliath games; I love them!

You are correct; unfortunately his poll casts a negative perception that is hard to shake.

MT is now up 30 to 0 Go SBC Football!!!!
-
Yeah, but this is a rivalry game so TT is really fired up most likely. I think I read on the MT board that this is an old rival.

The three SBC teams that I like the most are stAte, UNT, and the Louisiana Cajuns. The three of us have been together for many years and I really enjoy being in the same conference again with the Mean Green and the Cajuns. Go SBC Football!!!!
-
Hey Greenies -- You are one of my three favorite SBC football teams; give 'em hell in Austin this weekend. I will be pulling for you guys!!! Go Mean Green!!! Go SBC Football!!!!

On the road - 1A teams travel miles in '06
badgerwolf replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Add in the trip to Hawaii and it appears La Tech has the dubious honor of #1 in frequent flyer miles per the La Tech board: According to that list, we have the third highest number of road miles. But we also play at Hawaii and the two teams above us don't, so I guess that means we are the official Road Warriors of 2006! -
This is why we need out of Sun Belt

SBC football is not alone; CFN smacked the WAC in it's conference preview: CONFERENCE OUTLOOK No league has a bigger chasm between the haves and have nots. While that’s lousy for WAC fans hoping for a fun season, it’s great for a Boise State team dreaming to be a part of the BCS if it can beat Oregon State and Utah. Fresno State, Nevada and Hawaii are all good enough to play with anyone in the country for at least a half, Louisiana Tech is decent, and then things drop off the map with San Jose State, Idaho, even with the addition of head coach Dennis Erickson, Utah State and New Mexico State among the worst teams in college football. -
Hey Guys -- Here is a link to one of your alums: http://www.koat.com/koatnewsteam/267534/detail.html Cynthia graduated from UNT and is an anchor for KOAT in ABQ. She is famous in ABQ . . . she is part of my favorite newscast team. I watch her every day. Go Mean Green!!!!

Just pulling your chain, Greenies! A Loser Tech fan calls us Arkansas Mistake; a SMUt fan calls us the Scarlet O'Haras . . . I love college football . . . is it kickoff time yet? Kick the crap out of Loser Tech for me guys! Go Mean Green Go stAte Go SBC Football!!!!!
-
NMSU is not playing Okie State at home; I live in New Mexico and it certainly qualifies for your nickname of 'Inbred State', but that is not nice to pick on NMSU like that. Inbreeding has been ongoing for about 400 years here in Nuevo Mejico . . . LOL!!!
-
No matter how many turn out for the La Tech game the Techies will claim about 10K were traveling Tech fans . . . LOL!
-
I think it will be a battle between stAte, ULL, and UNT for the football championship this year. Go SBC Football!!!!
-
OK, which of you jokers moved my school to Alaska . . . LOL?
-
Based upon CUSA's historical expansion selection process, I do not believe that La Tech has much of a chance or they would have gotten in over UTEP -- Ruston is a small, rural market; Tech football attendance is not good enough for CUSA; Tech athletic budget is way too small for CUSA. I would expect UNT and the new Florida schools (Miami and Boca Raton) to be ahead of La Tech. All of you guys have so much potential! Go Mean Green!!!! Go SBC!!!

Yes, FINALLY! This is the logo that most on TG prefer. It will be on our new turf and will run from one 40 yard line to the other 40 yard line. Army will be the first team to play on the new field. The first game will probably be a sell out as we will have a new field, we owe Army for last year, and we had a good season last year. Go SBC Football!!! -

Well, focus on WKU, MTSU, Troy, and ULX then! Those states are much higher on the list than Arkansas.

If the Burque Bowl comes to be, consider this comment from the ABQ Journal: LOCAL INTEREST: "Unless UNM (or at least NMSU) is involved, regardless of the weather, it's a stretch to think such a game could draw 25,000 fans -- the average attendance over a three-year period required by the NCAA for a bowl to survive." "No, don't count on ABQ/New Mexico fans turning out to see Colorado State play Louisiana Tech, or to watch Nevada have it out with UNLV -- just as Nevadans stayed away when the Lobos played UCLA and Oregon State in the 2002 and 2003 Las Vegas Bowls." If UNM is not in this bowl . . . If Hawaii is not in their bowl . . . ???

As I recall that game was played in the Tacoma Dome for the 1-AA NC. Tracy Hamm was awesome and we were runners-up to the NC. Lacewell was the coach and it was a very good team.
