  1. This week could not get any longer.....

  2. We will be there for sure and we are bringing I think 4 with us.
  3. Actually my family that attended TCU that is going to the game got tickets for $36. That is the cheapest seating. Maybe they are sold out of those tickets. In addition TCU/Jerryworld ran a special with Groupon just two weeks ago where you could purchase the tickets for $15 up to 8 tickets and the $75 seats were marked down to $35. That has to be contracted through Jerry Jones. More than 2000 people purchase tickets through Groupon that day. I'm assuming they probably sold close to 8,000 tickets just from that special.
  4. We already have a sitter for the kiddos and plan on being there at least an hour early just to be sure we get a seat with a good view. Hopefully in the media room.
  5. As much as I hate to say this, right now I would say that's TRUE media. For right now.
  6. By the way, scientific studies have show that 53.6% of statistics are incorrect. Personally I think the game day experience between college ball and NFL are two totally different experiences. Really not a way for me to compare them IMO.
  7. You must not get out much at all then. I lived there for 18 years and my parents still live there as well as other family members and you see TCU everywhere you go. Either support from businesses or your average joe wearing a tshirt or hat.
  8. Not crazy, just grew up in that stadium. Family went there and my mother works there. I really think the stadium was on par with Fouts before they redid the one side last year (maybe it was 2 years ago) which was more about creating more seats than aesthetics I think. And really that was what I was talking about. Amon has better viewing since they have no track but as far as aesthetics I thought they were equal.
  9. It's more expensive usually to renovate an old stadium typically than to build a brand new one if I'm not mistaken. Unless it's totally demolished and rebuilt brand new. They just did the other side of the stadium last year or year before last and there is no place in that area where a new stadium could be built.
  10. Highway to Hell- AC/DC I Want To Break Free- Queen
  11. It's about time. Their stadium IMO was as bad as Fouts. It is old and way way way outdated.
  12. Love the changes Harry! Thanks so much for all the hard work!!!
  13. FIU stands out with me as well because of the craziness of the whole situation. I also remember standing on the deck wishing that they hadn't stopped serving beer at the normal time. LOL
  14. What time is the game?
  15. So bottom line it comes down to the $$.
  16. Like the new look on the forums! Great job Harry!
  17. Highway to Hell...it could be fitting for our season regardless. Duo use.
  18. I like TCU's uni's (home) from most years but liked both their uni's from late last year. I was in the minority. They had the scaly look on the uni's and the blood lines on the helmets. Navy has great uniforms too. Classic IMO.
  19. Bump, just want to be sure everyone gets a chance to check this out.
  20. Prayers to you and yours from the Barrera family.
  21. That's pretty cool. I bet the boys, whoever they pick, will easily do that. I've seen how football players eat.
  22. Man! I'm going to be there Sunday and not Saturday. Bummer
  23. I'm posting this here because I know this forum gets read the most. If y'all feel the need to move it that's ok. This is pretty cool and I thought maybe a few people here would be interested. Especially those that have older children. Mine are a little too young as the age limit is 10 or older. They need extras for the filming of Friday Night Lights at the Cotton Bowl and instead of getting paid they will be making donations to Operation Kindness if you go as a representative of their group. With the economic downturn over the past few years many people make their first budget cuts by letting go of their animals. Operation Kindness is the largest NO KILL animal shelter in North TX and they have taken on quite a lot of animals over the past few years. If you could do this it would be a very cool experience and for a great cause all at the same time! Thanks! Sam Greetings All: Please read below, be an extra on TV and help the animals at the same time! This is a great opportunity for all of our YMSL and NCL folks! “Friday Night Lights” is the hit DirecTV/NBC television series from acclaimed Writer/Director Peter Berg. The story behind the series – In Dillon, Texas, high school football isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life. It is a family drama that not only focuses on football, but on the lives, loves and goals of people in a small Texas town. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Volunteer EXTRAS to play FANS in the football stands. We are looking for men, women and children in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Age limit is restricted to 10 years and older. FILMING DATES We will be filming on BOTH Friday 7/16/10 and Saturday 7/17/10. You are invited to participate on either one or both of these dates. WHERE WILL FILMING TAKE PLACE The Cotton Bowl – 3750 Midway Plaza, Dallas, TX 75210 (located at Fair Park) HOW MUCH TIME IS REQUIRED You will be expected to stay with us for the duration of our filming day, which can last anywhere from 6-10 hours. Start time is still TBD but depending on start, could last as late as 10:00pm on each day. HOW YOUR ORGANIZATION WILL BENEFIT For each person that attends as a representative of your group, a $20.00 per person donation will be made to Operation Kindness. WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED We will provide snacks and beverages for everyone throughout the day. After four (4) to six (6) hours of work, box lunches will also be provided. You are also welcome to bring food/drink with you to the stadium. During the day, there will be giveaways and raffles for great prizes. You will also get the chance to see your favorite “FNL” actors and possibly see yourself on NBC/DirecTV television!! If you are interested, please email Julie at jgoff@operationkindness.org.
  24. My husband was in a fraternity while at UNT and we still see current members/pledges etc. every football season so unless they changed the rule since last August, all the houses are dry.
  25. Everyday beer: MGD64, I know I know, has almost no alcohol but I've switched to it since I'm trying to get my girlish figure back after two kids. LOL Special Occasion or going out beer: DosXX Lager Yuengling Lager or Lager Light Anchor Steam Summer Ale (seasonal) Rahr Ugly Pug Leinenkugels (sp?) Summer Shandy (seasonal) edited my post when I saw someone else mention Anchor Steam and realized that I had said Steamboat brewery. Anchor steam, steamboat...all the same thing to me.
