  1. . --Really ---Two years ago he was not the mayor of as small town in the wilderness seeing that the trash was picked up and that the water ran.... He was a US Senator.... and before that he was in the Senate of Illinios.. a very large State... He also has a very good education from a Ivy League school, although I think that is over rated.. Socialist... well before that we had people saying he was a Muslim from a Medrasa (terrorist school) and would not say the Pledge or wear a flag pin and had taken the Oath of office using the Koran.... ( none of that is true ) ... Tell the truth.. ---It seem that some realize they can't defeat him with the truth so they just make up lies and hope people will believe them. Calling people names sometimes works... it worked in Germany during the 1930's.
  2. .. Maybe no one really is.... but like in football ... at least play the QB that gives you a chance and has actually been a few games. .
  3. ---Three times during my lifetime (I am old..LOL) the elected President did not finish their term ---Roosevelt, Kennedy and Nixon who was basicly forced out of office. There is high possibility she could become President...... If you really think she is up to dealing with somethings crazy world leaders, war, and defense issues .... then vote McCain and the Gov. of Alaska ---who two years ago was a mayor of some Alaskan town whose largest issues was dealing with garbage, police, water systems, and fire departments ... She has been gov. less than two years and may have never even been inside of the U.S. Senate.... much less presiding over it which is primary duty of the VP. ---By all means vote for her* if you think she is qualified to with deal with China, Russia, the Middle East, and all other problems we have. --This is just plain nuts. * this not about being a female issue ---Condy Rice, Hillery Clinton, plus some others are tough enough and informed enough to do it... I really doubt she she is.
  4. --- I thought the no advertising night by McCain was a good move by McCain... I actually like him.... JI just don't care for a lot of others in his party and all these trashy emails send out making false claims. Are you getting any of those about McCain. ??? --As for Hussein in his name--- so what.... he wasn't named after Saddam... it is a common name in parts of the world and reflects his birth father's heritage. I have some older relatives who were named was Adolph.... It does imply any support of Adoplh Hitler either. No one had even heard of Hitler when they were born. We have even had a Governor in Texas with that name.... Adolph (Dolph) Briscoe. --- Those using the Hussein name when talking about Obama are just taking "cheap" shots and have no class. --Those who have a problem with the name Hussein should not buy Coors Beer..... It was founded by a German named Adolph.... Adolph Coors...
  5. ---Well they are hoping to get the voters that are very disappointed that Hillery was not nominated. It has nothing to do with being qualified. ---Do you really want her as President??? Remember McCain is 70+ . It could happen. I would never vote for anyone because of their VP--- but I might vote against them because of who they are. Not sure this shows very good judgement.... It appears to be an attempt to just get elected and not about being qualified for the position. ...... Wow .... Unbelievable.....!!!!
  6. I know Oklahoma is back in the sticks but you are either 4 or 8 years behind the time. Proof that news travels slooow in that state. On second thought... Which Bush.?? Have you heard that there is a second one.???
  7. . --Have you ever watched Fox news...?? Slap my hand... bad boy!!! This is why it is good to have alums in positions that could be helpful....which includes the state legislature...for funding etc. .
  8. ---I do agree with you, also.. our size and being a state university would make us very different that Baylor or TCU... It might take a while but we would climb to the middle at least. With that kind of schedule and being on the edge of a huge city, our attendence would rapidly climb, as would fan interest and quality of recruits. ----Let's get after KSU and shut down their offense. ............. If we do that, we can win.
  9. --- I believe that fifth year students can transfer and play immediately. He red-shirted one year. That is another danger of red-shirting a kid. ---I agree with Emmitt.... A lot of folks here would prefer to be in a more recognized conference but being a constant bottom feeder is no fun either. I expect that if you aked a TCU Fan if they prefer being successful in their conference over being pummeled every week in the Big-XII they like where they are. RE: Baylor ...careful what you ask for .... you may get it. ...... they did and they are getting shelled regularly. A losing mind-set is hard to turn around... they expect to lose. We don't have that, at least in conference games. We have been successful lately , just not the past three years. At this point our success is all about defense.... stop some people and we can win.
  10. ---Looks as if the "shine" on Mike Price (UTEP coach) has been tarnished a bit. He started at 8-4 in 2004, followed by 8-4 then 5-7, and 4-8. Now this happened, Buffalo may better but they have been the joke of NCAA football for quite a while. 1999 Craig Cirbus 0 - 11 2000 Craig Cirbus 2 - 9 2001 Jim Hofher 3 - 8 2002 Jim Hofher 1 - 11 2003 Jim Hofher 1 - 11 2004 Jim Hofher 2 - 9 2005 Jim Hofher 1 - 10 2006 Turner Gill 2 - 10 2007 Turner Gill 5 - 7 __________________________ 9 years 17- 86 16.5% Maybe CUSA should have added North Texas instead of UTEP .... Only Kent State and Florida International ( with a very short history) has a worse winning percentage than UTEP. Buffalo is even 1% better. UTEP has had only 9 winning seasons in the past 50 years. North Texas --- 464 - - 423 -- 33 -- .522 Univ Buffalo --- 389 -- 456 -- 28 -- .429 Texas-El Paso --- 352 -- 509 -- 28 -- .411 Kent St. (OH) --- 297 -- 476 -- 28 -- .388 Florida Inter. --- 016 -- 052 -- 00 -- .235
  11. . --Better to rule in Hell than to be a servant in Heaven (Divine Comedy, I think) Obviously Briles doesn't agree with that.
  12. ---And there is worse news........ Their next game is Univ. of Texas (the Austin version) . Oh the pain...... I am sure their players and coaches are looking forward to that one. If Buffalo can hang 42 on them just think what UT can do...!!!
  13. 99.9% would not ... as you said.... It is the 0.01 % that is the problem.. The prison in Iraq, Mai Lai masacre in Nam and others. Opposing this type of conduct is not being unpatriotic as some try to picture it. ---Flyer has the Right Idea..???? .. I don't think a news network with an "agenda" is ever the right idea... Ask anyone in any journalism department. Report the truth or at least what you believe to be true and confirm your facts. Nixon did not have much use of the Washington Post either....but they kept digging and were in the right. A media source that just makes up things and leaves out what THEY don't want you to know is not a news organization and is a real problem. That is what the media did in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. I do agree with the one thing he said (read/listen to several sourses) and I said so.
  14. "Ministry of Truth"....... LOL.. Maybe they should read more and talk less.
  15. That is the way to go... no one source is perfect. I do have a problem with a news organization that has an agenda....... it is not a news organization but a propoganda network such as existed in the USSR. Not a great source but this is film clips from Fox. .....LOL... can't do better quickly. Note: It does say Fox news at the bottom of a lot of them.
  16. . ---Yeah, Fox is THE credible sourse... Geraldo was reporting about Iraq battles that did not exist and even once claimed to be on the scene of one of them. They have reported that Obama attended to a Medrasa (Islamic "terrorist" type school) which wasn't true., and I think it has been mentioned by them that he used the Koran to take the Oath of office (not true). They do get a few things right but in general you can't trust their info to be correct. ---I am betting that CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, Time, Newsweek, Washington Post, and a whole bunch other ones you do not trust either..... They tell you what is true or the truth as it appears to be ---- and not what you want to hear and hope is true. .
  17. ---The other two are very little better.... Soldiers are to obey only lawful orders..... and this wasn't one. If fact the order from Hatley's superiors was to release them.... which wasn't done. Their only defense was that Hartley was going to shoot them if they did not do as he said.
  18. 100 to nothing.. What are we counting...morons??? Hate to bring up old history but it is interesting and seems to fit the occasion...... A very bad day for the Tulsy Oakeys. 11-23-1968 ..... Tulsa -- 6 ..... Univ of Houston ( Texas ) -- 100
  19. --- That is nuts.... The only justification would be a very over-sized kid in something like football where there actually is a risk of injury to smaller kids. The kid is actually a very normal size (as shown on TV).... and supposedly has not hit or hurt anyone. Moving him up to an older age group would be a risk to the kid involved. One answer would be to restrict him to a certain amount of innings per game as pitcher... That would likely be better for him anyway and not allow him to hurt his arm at a young age. All-star games...different issue, turn him loose, follow the rules for everyone, after all, he is of legal age... --- No doubt there have been some nutty little league coaches that actually throw that fast (or faster) at kids..... That really isn't justified.
  20. Wow... I think I have seen some women that were pretty disgusting. Also have you ever tasted Pearl Light. (if it still exists......awful) ...... Perhaps after enough of them even disgusting women look better......nah.....never..... would pass out before getting to that point..
  21. --That is very good idea and has some merit.... and besides it sort of sends a message that they should support athletic events. Just keep the fee very reasonable...
  22. --He is also contributing on special teams and last week returned a kickoff in addition to having eight carries as a RB. .... Last year's kick-off returner, Ginn, is now the #1 or #1 WR. I expect someone else to take that job... maybe Cobbs.... plus he can contribute in other ways. I think he makes the team.
  23. --Glen Ray played for Midland High. We sat a few rows behind his mother and she often was about as entertaining as the game.. She was wild and crazy and always yelling. He was a pretty good QB, if he had not had been, Nebraska would not have given him a scholarship to start with. ---Glen Ray (Midland) and Hayden Fry (Odessa) both never gave up and always thought there was a way they could win.
  24. ---Cobbs carried the ball 8 times... 20 yards... Ricky Williams had 10 carries and Ronnie Brown had two carries and injuried his thumb and is also coming off a season stopped by injuries. . The fact that Cobbs returned a kick-off could be good for him. Their regular kick-off guy, Ginn, is now their #1 receiver and I doubt they want to use him on kick-offs any more. The more versitility Patrick has, the more likely he is to stick into the regular season. Most teams don't want to use an every down player to do kick-off and punt returns.
