--Scoring so low in soccer because it is always 10 offensive vs 11 defensive on the offensive end (goalie doesn't go down and help very often) .. The defense has a big advantage. Restricting the two "wing" positions to one of the field would really increase scoring and interest. -- I will never happen....

A politician should do or vote for what is best for his district or state (the people he represents) ....not just what is best for their political party or themselves.. Unfortunately a lot of them don't.

---I am/was one of the "country cousin types". I have never known one of us to "carry" a gun for protection against another human. Most "have one handy" to use against snakes, or for hunting purposes or even to shoot "cans" just for fun. That isn't exactly "carrying" them. They are a needed "tool" if you are out in the country. You would agree too if you had ever picked a bale of hay or just looked down into the weeds and found a snake rattling his tail at you.

--And Gov. Perry wants our College kids to have the "right" to carry guns on a college campus... I have known (and seen) too many hung over, drunk, and zonked out students for that to make sense.... plus just some are just Hotheads with no record to prevent them from having one either. ---I fully agree with you, it is time to move on.. the people involved in those events are dead, their children are dead, and almost none of their grandchildren even exist now. 140 years is enough time to recover from that unfortunate events. The truth is most people even in the South did not even own slaves. The founders of our Constitution were intelligent people but they weren't perfect people as some would like to portray them.. The Washington Post and the New York Times are the main papers of Washington and NY. Aren't these two sort of on the National Enquirer level. ---I suppose you realize that you just agreed with what I stated. The world cooled off to a mini ice-age and now it is warming up some... I never stated that man is responsible and in fact I said had no idea if man was contributing anything to the situation....it may be completely normal variation. As for morality.... read a bit more history about their personal lives. 24 hour TV and "Inside Edition" did not exist then or even 40 years ago to report every sordit detail. They were good men but they too had their imperfections. Times have changed as well.... they did not have to levy taxes to maintain interstate highways, worry about a global war or international terrorism, also schools and hospitals were awful for the most part (now tax supported) . Basically the rich were educated, the rest were poorly educated and many people (especially women and slaves) could not read at all . That sorta of explains a restricted voting population. I do dislike that we now have only holiday to celebrate an American citizen... and it is not any of our founders.... many of which died or lost their wealth, obviously some didn't. ---The last sentence in quotes: Go make yourself a big pile of money. ---OK--What is your explanation for the decreasng size of the polar icecaps (open water where ice has always been before now), mountains that have always had snow on them year round being bare now, and glaciers that are exposing land that has never been seen before? I am not absolutely convinced man is responsible for this but what is your explanation for this occuring???? This is happening and old yearly photographs confirm it.... --I am sure about the flu subject... but I think the Texas UIL is at present over-reacting to it. I see major league baseball, the Kentucky Derby, and Nascar races are still happening. Having said that my grandmother died with the 1918 flu and left four small kids (she was age 34) . It is believed about 20% of Americans died with it. One of my grandfathers also lost both of his brothers to it as well. It is likely soldiers returning from the trench warfare of WWI spread it across America rapidly.

----If you remember the Democrats left Bush alone his first two years for the most part... I think he did pretty well then and reacted to 9-11 very well.... It all changed when he decided to invade Iraq to get WMD that did not exist... Democrats even trusted his judgement until then and even voted to let him take whatever action was needed . The problem --- they did not exist and at that point he lost credibility and had put us into an unneccesary and expensive war. His final six years was the big problem.... the war, the economy, the debt, etc. --I also think Bush Sr. was well qualified and did well.... it was the GOP right wing that abandoned him and voted for Perot.....which put Clinton into office. ---I am not the liberal you think I am, or even so rabid a Democrat...Bush Jr. got my criticism because he did poorly. We are now in a war we should not be in, and the economy went to hell during in his administration. You should just face the real truth and not believe what you just want to be true.

(sounds almost like France in 1790...before the revolution in which the worthless peasants beheaded everyone) ---You do realize Gates and Buffet are/were worth about $50 billion each .... that is $50,000 MILLION each..... and they have a lot of similar friends that are multi-billionaires. The entire town of Midland and maybe most of Western half of the State, can't come up with that kind of Money even with a few Fortune 400 people in the oil business out here.. ---I suspect everyone making less than a million per year would really see their taxes climb drastically and the super wealthy see theirs drop. . [ also I just read there are over 700,000 millionaires within 50 miles of Yankee stadium in a discussion about high stadium seat prices]. Unless you earn a million or so EVERY year... you aren't one of the wealthy and may be just merely sorta well off. [and did not get a lot of benefit from many of the tax cuts during the past 10 years--sorry] --I realize some of us here may be worth $1,000,000 or maybe even $5,000,000 or so ( and think they are the rich) .....but that is like comparing $1 or $5 to Bill Gates having $50,000. Some people just don't get how much the really wealthy has.... in 1790 terms... unless you are worth many many millions now, you are the peasants.

--How did Landry do in his first hundred days of his first season with the Cowboys.???? zero wins. He walked into a bad situation..... the same can be said of Jimmy Jones ..(he might have won one.... he went 1-15 in first season) Both did pretty well before it was all over. Be a little more patient and realistic... before making much of a decision....He may do well or he may fall flat. The market had dropped 5000 points before he took office and bail-outs had already started... not a good situation to inherit.

Having said that I do think Matt Jones might be worth the risk... they may be waiting to see if he can keep his nose clean. -- I am in Midland. IWhoe ver happened (if anything) has been kept very quiet and there was a lot of support for him and probably still is. . He seemed like a nice guy (wife and I know him slightly) . A lot of people think it was unjustified. Rumor has it the kid(s) involved were jerks (at spring training I think) . I really don't know, but I was surprised. He has previously been an assistant at Permian then head coach at Odessa High and later Abilene Cooper before coming to Midland ... no problems at those. He has been here several years.

I am sure he was refering to the fact that we could take out major cities in Japan also.... Obviously you weren't alive during or soon after WWII or would have immediately caught on what he meant .

Absolutely.. Plus you won't find that type of trashy story on "fair and balanced" Fox news. ( trashing the President... well at least not between 2001-2008 when our national debt doubled, the economy sunk, and we hunted WMD that did not exist )
