--not a big deal but I notice that someone picked up Cobbs in a large fantasy league I am in today. Ie. gaining respect (the person has no UNT connection)

--SHOES...??

1-0 It has been a while ..... too many opening games against UT, OU and LSU. Looks as if we just escaped ESPN's bottom-10 list.
-
---You missed the fact that they were there.... and Hans Blix wanted more time... We invaded anyway.. and our only source was "Curveball" (a Iraq citizen in Germany that disliked Saddam) which the German government said had no credibility. -- I opposed the invasion because war kills people and there was no justification for it.... Not any political reason although it may look like it. I liked his father very much but this one was incompetant and a "glory hog".... it didn't work out for him very well.

--He is no favorite of mine ....but.. how many Americans died in Iraq hunting WMD that did not exist.... which is exactly what the UN inspectors had said was true. -- This is not about politics but what about people getting killed in ?war? for a reason that did not exist. No 9-11 connection either. Why did we invade..?terrorists??,,, name what Iraq had done to us or Europe... The Libyan, Syrian, Algerian, Saudi Arabian (Ben Laden) list is long. The people evil Saddam killed were mostly Islamic crazies that wanted to overthrow him just as they had done in Iran (ie. our enemies also).

--The extreme right wing thinks he is a deity. They try to convince the rest of us that he is ---The DEVIL. LOL. Thanks for the below quote in your signature, UNTFLYER ...1983 was Reagan's THIRD year as President. He wasn't the deity that some try to portray him as. He also almost tripled the national debt and was President when the largest drop in the stock market occurred (percent-wise). It exceeded the other famous one under Hoover (also GOP).....but it was not a large point wise long term as the one under Bush (GOP) which was 5000 points during 2008.. -------------------- Jobs lost since January 20, 2009: 3,191,000 Current unemployment rate: 9.4%, highest since June 1983 (August 7, 2009)

--- What an idiot.... he would never make up the missed earning this year by sitting out. Even most who wait until late in training camp usually have a lousy career and start off behind everyone else. Check out Jamarcus Russell asnd Ced Benson and most others.... and they did finally sign but very, very late . ESPN: ESPN.com quoted Crabtree’s cousin and adviser, David Wells, as saying that Crabtree is prepared to sit and re-enter the NFL draft next year. Maybe he should listen to professsional advise and not an idiot cousin that wants to cash in. ___ Options: 1. He signs and not for what he is demanding. 2. SF. trades him off for future picks from a contending team that is close to a SB team... and he probably still won't get what he wants but maybe more.. 3. He sits... which is stupid.....besides who would want to take a chance and draft him early next year given his history...... and by not playing his skills could deteriorate as well.

Quadrupling???? ---- That is not true... You are listening to Rush*** too much. Bush left us owing $10+ trillion. If it has increased by $1.3 trillion (which may actually be true) in an attempt to correct the situation Bush left us.. that is about a 13% increase... not 400%. You need to check facts... that is why the GOP hates the media and college profs. They check facts....and read accurate information and understand what they just read. .... ***he flunked EVERY college class he took... and then dropped out of Southwest Missouri State after attending for a FULL year....(what a genius).

Wow--- you see the difference... I have always thought the same. The guys we had for eight years have been "Religious conservatives" not really "political conservatives". If they had been political/financial conservatives they would not have doubled the national debt. I know you think I am an extreme liberal but I don't think I am at all... in fact I think I am conservative...especially on financial issues. The last eight years was the most liberal financially ever. They cut taxes, then increased spending, and thought they had to right to invade countries and run them. Saddam had nothing to do with 9-11 and he had done no terrorists acts against us. A true conservative would have left them alone... I can't run my next-door neighbors affairs either even though I may not agree with him and some of his actions.. ---Too bad too many just didn't get you can't cut taxes unless you cut spending... First you cut wasteful spending when there is some and then youadjust the taxes to fit the tax cuts..... They were idiots financially that wanted also to tell others how to run their countries. the folks Saddam (thug) killed were the same Islamic terrorists we hate and and he feared them because they might to to him what they had done in Iran...take over. --They kept yelling about government interference (oversight) .... well they got them in financial community and the idiots made a lot of stupid high end loans for expensive houseing and condos.. [check on Florida, California and Los Vegas.... the worst repo areas.] This is not about loans to lower income at all... yes some have happened after the unemployment climbed partly because of the crazy high priced loans went to hell. Classrooms can't even be run without some runs and supervision.... much less Wall Street and the banking sector. ---They claim the Democrats want to take your guns... well that isn't true either.... maybe a few but not in general... and even then mostly extreme type guns... assault weapons with insane clips and speed ...not ordinary pistrols, hunting rifles or shotguns... ---They got kicked out of office because they honestly weren't financial conservative and even wanted to run other countries by claiming they were developing WMD (we never found them, at least nothing meaningful) . --Have a great day yawl, enjoy the ecomony Bush left us.... and learn what a real conservative is... it is not about religious issues ( I regularly attend church am not some atheist freak) .. also let schools be school and don't try to make them places of worship.... not everyone there has the same beliefs and not even every Christian believes the same. I am so conservative that I don't think the school has a right to tell me or my kids what to believe.
-
--Re: Honesty...... Tell me again.... Where are those WMD...??? And again... We are Conservative ... and then doubling the National debt in 8 years.... which means increasing increasing it as much as all 42 previous Democratic and Repubilcan presidents...combined.... . It is tough to believe what you hear from those guys.... that is why they are now out of power.. You can also toss in how well they managed the economy and what shape it was in as of Dec., 2008....as compared to Dec., 2000 when there was actually a budget surplus... The Truth hurts to those guys..... It just isn't what they want it to be.

--Life is tough out there now ..... Some who have a lot experience and have lost their jobs don't have one either. You were unlucky to have graduated when you did. The UNT Career Centre can't find you jobs when none exist. Been a while but they helped me. ---Can't respond much about your foreign comments much but something is amiss.. Perhaps they are agreeing to take far less in income and that can be a problem. Around here the reverse seems to be true. The foreigners only get a job when the others just aren't qualified. Who wants people who have poor speaking skills especially if speaking is a part of the job plus other employees rather have Americans to work with. 90% of applicants for a job I am aware of was foreign.... none of them was hired. They seem willing to take about any salary (even a low one) just to stay here which unfortunately may be your problem and not your fault... ---I underlined a bit of your post.....It is crazy that some want to claim Obama isn't American and isn't good for America. They are sore that they lost and wish the guy that started all of of this mess was in office.... which is even more crazy. When you graduated and could not get a job upon graduation , the other guy was President and things were sinking fast. They wanted less taxes and less government oversight...well they got it and we now have the national debt doubled and the financial industry (especially high end loans for condos etc.) is messed up. Good luck in the future. Maybe things will improve. I have a family member in the market for a good job as well. .

Smu Coach Confident Opener Will Be A Sellout
SCREAMING EAGLE-66 replied to gangrene's topic in Mean Green Football
---SMU is a no-count college. They will estimate a sell out after looking at 5 seats. Besides that have a history of not being exactly honest... remember the death penalty?? "Sell out" .... which definition?? Besides --look at the word "expect" . I am sure the the Cowboys "expect" to go undefeated and win the Super Bowl ... the reality... probably not. -
--Actually he said 51.... He was counting DC.... which also casts electorial votes....Thus 51 places to get/lose votes. Sort of dumb comment but everyone here even when thinking about what they are typing (and not just instantly commenting) makes a few crazy comments. If that is the worst thing he has said (it isn't) then we are in good shape.

---An unassisted triple play is more rare...about 10 I think. Randy Velarde of Midland playing for Oakand or the Yankees did one about ten years ago and I think one has happened since.. He was playing second base and caught a screaming fly ball, tagged the runner from first before he could get turned round, then beat the guy that had been on second back to his base. Tough to do plus there has to be no outs with the runners in the right place.

---- I would not say Harrell or many other Tech QB's were average college QB's at all .. There are a lot of players that are great at the college level but can't play in the NFL.... Booger Kennedy was great against college players but was too short to be a successful NFL player. Even a few Heisman winners had short or even no NFL career. They were far from average... The only player with TWO Heismans was pretty much a failure in the NFL. How many QBs from each year actually make or start a game in the NFL. Very few. Last year the NFL had two QBs from recent college classes, Flacco and Ryan. On the flip side some so-so college QBs do very well in the NFL... Examples, Brady, Romo, Warner, and even Cassel who never started one game.
-
--COACH or coaches. At the college level they recruit the other positions. ..... and once that is done they select who to send on the field ---and then call most of the plays.

Who Says We Don't Get National Exposure..
SCREAMING EAGLE-66 replied to gomngrn08's topic in Mean Green Football
--Like I tell my students, "If they don't like their grade, then get busy and do something about it". Our football team (and coaches) needs to do the same. -
--- Good grief.... parking tickets is worst criminal act people can come up with... When I was at UNT during the 1970's, a lady in front of me was unable to obtain her transcript... She owed the library about 80 cents from 1948. I think some of you would wanted her thrown in jail and then the key thrown away.. --- She left to pay the fine and I suppose she did.... and not in handcuffs. I am so glad Republicans are so moral, religious, and law-bidding they even pay their library fees and parking fines (even those they may not even know they owe) and have no DWU's.. (wait I remember one by someone prior to be elected Prez). I wonder if the Gov. of South Carolina owes parking fees??? --- Got an email today comparing Obama first pitch to Bush's ... it was ridiculous.... Some of the Bush ones did not even reach the plate... (they failed to mention that). Anyway who cares.... neither was hired to pitch anyway. ---At least Obama hasn't invaded some country or dropped the DOW 5000 points by deregulation (less gov interference ) on the financial community. Nothing like keeping the eye on the real issues in this country and the problems we now face.
-
And who caused it.... and where were your conservative ideas when Bush DOUBLED the debt....and wrecked the economy... The Dow dropped 5000 points and if you had asny money there you lost 40% (or more) ..... and you defended him and still do..??? I am outraged because of my losses and because of his stupidity..snd the gullibile people that could not see what was really happening..... Wake up. We kept saying he was no conservative. but many would not listen And no ..I don't support all of the current ideas to correct the problems that started under BUSH .... but then again.... who started these bailouts.... It was BUSH... you can read... and do remember what happened last year ..... corrrect.?? The DOW has been fairly stable since January this year.... look it up.
-
True -- Reagan almost tripled the national debt --that is three times all of the previous 39 Presidents COMBINED -- and then Bush Jr. managed to even double that ridiculous total. So much for claiming to be a financial conservative ... Wonder what what a Super-spend Democrat would have done... Example: Clinton increased it by less than 2% per year for his eight years... That is Liberal ????? Reagan and Bush sound like Liberals to me. Bush senior did ok then the GOP conservative wing abandoned him and voted for Perot... --Oh well there is the truth and what people want to be true... it isn't the same.
